You guys wanna know why Perry didn’t start last year?

Qb competition open for 2018. It will be interesting to see if anyone can take job away from Rosier. In the running are Perry, Weldon and Williams. It is only January 3 and a lot of things can happen before final decision will be made. In my opinion decision will not be made until we are into fall practice. Perry not a shoe in to get job. Competition is good.

Not sure what the precedent is of a starting QB who helped guide his team to 10 wins loses his job the next year. Hey, I'll be happy if we get an accurate qb who can get us over the top. But I think everyone needs to pump the brakes thinking Richt will replace an incumbent starter. My personal opinion is Malik keeps the job, but is on a VERY short leash.

nope, perry would have to be dog **** to lose out to "can't throw 5 yards over the middle malik"

I think the qb competition is to appease fans, i really don't think it's real...but time will tell...gonna be a LONG off season.
 
No UM quarterback ever watched more film than Ken Dorsey. Ken lived in the film room and probably knew more about opposing defenses than the coaches did.

He had to,,,,his physical abilities were fairly poor....he threw a ton of bad passes over his time that were masked by the dudes catching them....and the O-Line had to be almost super human because he had bricks for feet.

He was an outstanding college qb, but with the talent around him...wow.
 
If Malik Rosier is the starter next year, it's because Perry got hurt or he's an absolute bust. Richt did not want to start him this year but had to out of necessity. His accuracy is just not there. Guys don't all of the sudden go from <50% passers to >60% passers. In 2018, you cannot get by with a guy completing less than 60% of his passes. The game is quarterback-centric unless you're an incredibly dynamic athlete, you better be an accurate thrower.

Malik was handed the keys to a new car and just had to get it out of the parking lot.

Pitt and Wisconsin lost him the job. Dude had a great year and I'm thankful for him, but Pitt and Wisconsin could have been wins and we could have finished 12-1 with an orange bowl win and maybe more and we would all be riding him even if just Average as a game manager.. those three horrible finishes to end the season though really have the staff and fanbase doubting him
 
With that being said it’s pretty crazy that Williams is 25 pounds bigger than perry still at 6’3 206

Williams has impressed with accuracy at the AAA practices, more polished as a qb than they realized

If Williams gets the playbook man it’s going to be interesting. He already outweighs Perry by 20 Pounds.

Just really shows how bad of a coach Golden was. You have to have your entire time feel like they're a part of the process. A few backups not really caring and not being required to do certain things can drag down the whole team.

Williams couldn't even hit the broadside of a barn at the USAAAA practices yesterday, He'll RS.

That’s not even true, 247 guys said he was impressive yesterday and one of the more consistent performers at ab. Rivals said he was even more accurate on Tuesday

Looks like we will have a real qb competition this year. Rosier, Perry, Weldon, and Williams. Really excited about spring along with Lingard, Frierson, and Hall.
