Coaching You can’t defend Cristobal anymore

Give him a front office role or something but that dude has no business being on the sidelines or being involved in any game plan
If it gets to the point that you let Mario then all parties have to move on

What new coach wants to come in where the old coach is still in the building?

Why are we acting like our two losses are against 1-5 Louisville and 3-5 SMU?

College football is deep. The ACC is a strong conference no matter what the critics tell you.

NC State and Pittsburgh won’t be easy. Both are good teams.
Syracuse and VT are awful and I don’t see Mario choking those games away.
Because mario gets paid $8 mil a year and has a massive talent over these teams

There’s been a massive improvement imo

The caveat being an improvement over what Mario did once he got here when he blew the whole thing up and played it off like we were some small school coming back from the death penalty

The tragedy of his 2022 recruiting class and coaching hires really set the ultimate low bar for this “rebuild” bull****

Nevermind the reality of the situation…

Two ACC wins that are bigger than anything Mario has done here in conference from a dead man walking coach and a QB that apparently was so mentally shot we couldn’t even throw a forward pass

He saw TVD under Lashlee and said yep…Josh Gattis seems like the perfect fit
These wins were Fool's Gold with Van Dyke

One of CMC's glaring shortcomings is he a beast in non-conference (I don't count his 1st year here, he is polar opposite of Diaz, and that whole year was a roster upheaval)…(Remember he upset OSU without Thibodeaux), but can't stop losing conference games...

Like Is aid before, for me, I'm probably a little more lenient, because unless you are going to win it all, I see no big deal about making a conf ship or losing in the playoffs…. To me sweeping 3 teams I hated my whole life as a Canes fan, sweeping those 3 in September is just as big a deal as making a playoff in some weird 12 team format. Especially with unbalanced scheduling in these dumb *** new large conferences. As much as he ****es me off and I'm worried is the rare instance of being a guy so bad on game day that he may never win a ship NO MATTER the talent…. I have to acknowledge what he accomplished in September. JMO.

Looking at starters that are draft eligble I don't see a world where this can be called elite.

Beck- might be drafted Day 3
Fletcher- won't be drafted
Daniels- wont be drafted
Marion- wont be drafted
Bauman- wont be drafted
Bell- might be drafted Day 3
Mccoy- wont be drafted
Brockmeyer- wont be drafted
Cooper- wont be drafted
Mauigoa- possible first round

Bain- possible Day 2
Blay- possible Day 3
Mesidor- possible Day 3
Toure- wont be drafted
Bissainthe- wont be drafted
Thomas- probably Day 3
Scott- possible Day 2
Bain as a "possible Day 2" instantly renders these opinions invalid. I don't even disagree with some of this, but if you are going to mope, just say that.

FWIW it is worth, both Daniels and Mesidor are inside PFF's Top 125 draft prospects and of course both Bain and Mauigoa are Top 20.

None of this includes the "starters" you conveniently left out like Toney and Frederique and Lucas and O'Connor.

Weird, but not unexpected, behavior out of you.

That's his problem in a nutshell.

He is so **** arrogant (not a unique trait amongst coaches) that what they're trying to do isn't the problem, it's the players execution of it.

I've never seen less changes made week to week to prepare for an opponent than I have with a Mario led team. Just work harder, that's the game plan, execute better, and if it doesn't work get back to it the upcoming week.

This approach is why he's constantly out coached. They know what's coming and guess what, even basic coaches stand a chance against him week to week.
10000% agree. His teams win the offseason all the way to September through early to mid-October but because of his stubbornness his teams regress because the film is out on how his teams work.

People say he doesn’t change or adapt. He does…

He just waits until the end of the season to make those changes. So he changes and adapts once a year in late February - April when it’s way to late to capitalize on the Winter transfer portal but early enough to start building the hype and designing the flavor of the year’s kool-aid.

Georgia wasn’t going to pay Beck what he made in 2024, around $1.7 million, to stay. That tells you something. Probably would’ve paid him sumthing to hold a clip board and carry Gunner’s pads to and from practice though.
he wasnt welcomed back basically.

Awfully long response from someone that half assed reading. The first sentence says DRAFT ELIGIBLE. Maybe you just arent intelligent enough to know what that means and I overestimated my audience. I think Bain is fringe Day 2 he could go anywhere from 20-50 imo. His lack of sacks, his small frame, and I would expect him to test poorly. Its a prediction sorry it doesn't meet your standards.

Four sentences is long? Man, this fanbase is getting soft.

You are right though, I did miss the draft eligible part, hand up, that is on me. #Accountability.

Although that begs the question as to why we are talking about Mario's recruiting and only using draft-eligible players.

As for Bain, I guess we will just have to see.

I chose it arbitrarily. I don't have a firm projection for any underclassmen at this point and the overwhelming majority of our starters are upperclassmen. I dont think factoring anyone else in would change my premise which is we have good players. Very few that would be considered elite and even fewer that I think would be drafted before Day 3. Similar issue that we have had the entirety of Mario's tenure.

Seems fair enough. I would consider both Bain and Mauigoa "elite" since they have first round tags and there are only 30 of those guys in all of CFB.

My only pushback would be that teams like Georgia and Texas don't have a ton of draft-eligible superstars this year either. The days are hoarding elite talent are mostly over and we can quibble on the definition of "elite" but I do think Mario is well-above average in the talent acquisition department.

I would love it if one of you could respond with some kind of coherent sentence. Resorting to GIFs just screams inadequate.

This is a bad take. We had the best QB in the country last season. He didn't just come to Miami because he liked the city. Every single team in the country has units that are lacking for depth and impact.

If you want to be a mope, be a mope, but if you are unwilling to see that our talent level is miles better than it has been at any point in the last 15 years, then you are just in your feelings.

What does it matter how much talent we have when Manny Diaz can win more ACC games.

Diaz: 16-9
Cristobal: 14-14

That’s pathetic considering how much of a bum Manny is.

I think it’s obvious that Mario needs a second head coach on staff to actually run the offense on gameday. How about a well respected MAC coach with a strong offensive pedigree who is having a down year. …… Jason Candle anyone

You just insulted average coaches

If Mario is such a great or elite recruiter then why does Miami's QB room looks like the equivalent to FAUs QB room, linebackers are a mess and a the TEs are ******* nonexistent in year 4
Center can’t snap the ball and the guys at safety are bad, again.
