Yup and you still try to win the game. Beck is plenty good enough to win the game and has led big drives many times in his career.

Literally not one person here is saying that just because they aren’t happy with the offense you still don’t play to win in the obvious situation to do so

That’s how obvious his decision was. With what we have it is a no brainwr ndecision.

Jagr, in all fairness to everyone, multiple things can be true here. He should have tried to get into field goal range, the refs cost us the game egregiously in the end, we had a lot of dumb penalties…

There’s been a massive improvement imo

The caveat being an improvement over what Mario did once he got here when he blew the whole thing up and played it off like we were some small school coming back from the death penalty

The tragedy of his 2022 recruiting class and coaching hires really set the ultimate low bar for this “rebuild” bull****

Two ACC wins that are bigger than anything Mario has done here in conference from a dead man walking coach and a QB that apparently was so mentally shot we couldn’t even throw a forward pass

He saw TVD under Lashlee and said yep…Josh Gattis seems like the perfect fit

This is a bad take. We had the best QB in the country last season. He didn't just come to Miami because he liked the city. Every single team in the country has units that are lacking for depth and impact.

If you want to be a mope, be a mope, but if you are unwilling to see that our talent level is miles better than it has been at any point in the last 15 years, then you are just in your feelings.

I could’ve sworn I was talking about the 2025 QB room and not the one from last year, but since you brought it up

Cam Ward removed himself from the bowl game and the passing game came to halt, those same putrid QBs from last year have not been improved upon this year and please if Nickle couldn’t beat Emory then the QB room is worst off this year than last


Now let’s talk about the future quarterback QB where Dawson more likely is moving on and Corch Mario is still taking forever to hire a new offensive coordinator…… based on how we played offensively this year and no offensive coordinator in sight when the portal opens up, do you honestly believe you elite recruiter is gonna hit three in a row at QB position?

And now, for the last part about me being a mope. I am the Supreme Mope who never wanted Mario here for the first place and I have been proven right every step of the way.

I have to tip the cap, if you are going to own, then that is the way to do it. Quarterback is certainly not a shining example of our recruiting excellence, but we still have a lot of money and an excellent (pass-blocking) offensive line, so I think we can get good quarterbacks out of the portal.

I am not a Mario self-defense BOT although I did laugh outloud at that tag. I just think he can be criticized for just about everything EXCEPT talent acquisition. He isn't perfect but we probably have 10-15 guys on the roster who are NFL-worthy and that is better than probably all but 5-6 teams in the country.
 
You know what p!sses me off about someone like Mario and the same I had with Billy….why are coaches allowing themselves to get fired because they love meddling with the offense?

Whenever the defense is bad, they will make a change and then….gtfo of the way. Why can’t they do that with the offense????

Don't move the goal posts now. Your original message suggested that Mario is not a great or elite recruiter and mentioned multiple position groups. If your point is that Mario isn't a great quarterback recruiter, well then okay, don't make me abandon my family to argue with you and just say that instead.

I just went back and reread my post and you correct I did speak in general so let’s apply the myth of Mario being an elite recruiter general speaking in his fourth year as head coach of the university of Miami

LBs are barely USF level

TEs are nothing more than blocking lineman. The only draftable TE under Mario came from the previous head coach.

OLine - good in past protecting average and in run blocking

QB - absolute travesty

WR- above average in the ACC I just need a quarterback who can spread the ball around evenly

DLine - above average to good in the ACC

Secondary - good, I believe they could even be better if we played more press man

RBs - good however we don’t exploit that lateral movement

This looks like a good recruiter to me, but nothing elite

Looking at starters that are draft eligble I don't see a world where this can be called elite.

Beck- might be drafted Day 3
Fletcher- won't be drafted
Daniels- wont be drafted
Marion- wont be drafted
Bauman- wont be drafted
Bell- might be drafted Day 3
Mccoy- wont be drafted
Brockmeyer- wont be drafted
Cooper- wont be drafted
Mauigoa- possible first round

Bain- possible Day 2
Blay- possible Day 3
Mesidor- possible Day 3
Toure- wont be drafted
Bissainthe- wont be drafted
Thomas- probably Day 3
Scott- possible Day 2
