Year 2 Cristomoron versus Manny

Wario will finish year 2 6-6. Ain’t no way we’re beating BC, The Ville or F$Who. Those could very well all end up seeing us get blown out.

I never thought I’d say this, but Danny Miaz is a coaching savant when compared to Wario “Mr. Tuff & Fizcal” Cristobal.

I’m still try to figure out how this imbecile had the nerve to say at halftime yesterday that he thought the team looked good, and that he loved our physicality.

What in the fugg was he watching from the sidelines? That performance last night by our offense set offensive football back at least 50 years. It was a complete and utter abomination.

Somebody in the program (preferably Zo) has to have the balls to tell him to get the fugg out the way and let Dawson make his own game plan with zero input from Mario.

There are so many things that he needs to improve on to even be a decent HC.

…but this, ladies and gentlemen, is what $80 million gets you at the U. The greatest clown show on earth.

"I’m still try to figure out how this imbecile had the nerve to say at halftime yesterday that he thought the team looked good, and that he loved our physicality."

I almost puked when that buffoon said that. Those who were still asleep or still on the fence regarding Bozo the Cristobal almost certainly woke up and came to their senses when he said that.

Then in his presser dude kept telling anyone who would listen how upset Tyler was in the locker room. LMAO! Like anyone gives a rip. The guy throws 10 picks in 4 starts plus 2 fumbles and Bozo the Bro Style is telling us that he's upset.

I'm telling you that real soon once he loses out Bozo is going to have his Randy Shannon " Joe remember when I said...." moment. Only a matter of time.

That was wild. I was literally floored.

Just because one is successful in a certain profession doesn't mean they have good judgment in other areas (hiring a coach). I wouldnt want my lawyer performing surgery. The Columbus crew had way too much influence.

I don’t think that’s necessarily analogous. Successful executives are generally experts in talent acquisition and personnel evaluation across a diverse array of jobs/specialties.

Also, ADs are generally awful - so I don’t think there is a profession that has unique knowledge and skills to hire coaches.

Finally, I suspect Alonzo was involved in the process and supported hiring Cristobal. He is a football expert… so you had a football expert and a couple billionaire business executives and a successful administration guy (Rudy Fernandez) collaborating on the decision making process.

Again, I didn’t like it at the time but it’s wrong to say they were toilet water and most people leveling the vitriolic criticism don’t know what they’re talking about.

Do you know how many successful executives are boosters at the power five level? Other teams have a lot more of those than Miami does, and when it comes to football, they all have their opinions on who should be the coach. All you have to do is look at Texas, Texas A&M, Auburn, and the list goes on and on to see how successful executives/boosters have a hand in the hiring process and it becomes detrimental to the overall state of the program. Their judgment is typically not good when selecting a coach because it comes with their own agenda, just like with the hiring of Mario.

I respect Alonzo and all he has done for Miami but we have had many former players support “fill in coach” and have been in the process of hiring coaches here. I’m not going to disparage what he has done after his playing career was over but I’m also not going to blindly follow the thinking that just bc he has been in NFL team management positions/scout etc. his decision making is infallible. I hope for Miami sake, it proves to be true.

Years 3-4 for Mario won’t get any easier, either, especially if he strikes out at the QB position in the portal.
When he strikes out at the QB position in the portal. Yes, we have a very good OL, but Mario hasn't shown any reason for a good QB to transfer here, and then goes back to his days at Oregon with Herbert.

Maybe next time they should try to do an actual coaching search and not just yell down the hall to see who wants the job, or put $80 million worth of eggs in one basket simply because he went to high school with some of our wealthy alumni.

Manny's the reason why we had to almost completely turn over the roster in one year. The reason why this team was full of divas and cancers. His three years of mismanagement here did more damage than Randy or Golden did, combined.
I cannot disagree more!!! Manny was a great coach and has won everywhere he goes! The players loved him and rallied behind him!!! He was not given time to build ANY program much less this one. He was making great strides and building something special here. He knew what what not only this program but what this city is about and he was working on giving the fans exactly what they wanted. Love Cristobal all you want the verdict is still out but don't hate on Manny. Believe me he is laughing his *** off right now at Penn State

i am not sure where you get your information but the locker room was never toxic with Manny. The players LOVED Manny and fought for him until the end! The coaches loved coaching and the players loved playing for Manny! There was a total different energy in the entire program. I am surprised everyone has not noticed it yet but believe me they will.
Is that you Manny?

Players loved Manny because he let them do whatever they wanted. That team had no discipline or character at all. Nothing like dancing on the sidelines down to FIU. Not to mention the atrocious recruiting.

Manny was the worst coach UM has had in half a century. Set the program back five years at a minimum.

Did Manny’s abuela kidnap @The Franchise - he used to be such a great poster and now he runs around vomiting on this board too cowardly to make a single post. Weird.

Anyway… you’re right… manny single-handedly undid all the progress Richt made and really damaged the culture of the program.

As awful as Mario is… this team is tuff and fysical and wins the line of scrimmage. A good coach could come in now and win big immediately.

I don’t really get behind the whole Manny is better than Mario argument. We’re talking about Mario who brought Oregon into Columbus and beat CJ Stroud and a powerhouse OSU. It’s literally all TVD. Something wrong with the kid. The guy has all day to throw the ball and still throws it to the other team, the WR talent is plenty good, the RB’s too. The scheme leaves a little to be desired on offense but there’s plenty of plays to be made. Tvd might be taking money to throw conference games.

I
BC will be tough up in Chestnut Hill-We don’t play well up there-

Their QB is tough to control -He gave FSU fits-

I have no confidence will find enough offense to win any of the remaining 3 games.
I vividly remember that 01 team having a rough game up there that year…I actually thought we might lose. Now, compare that team to this team and you make a valid point.

idc bout the money but more so the years. we gave him a huge contract in length for a non title winning coach. it makes it impossible to get out of for a program that is notoriously cheap and whose purse strings appear to be controlled by the butt **** buddies from an all boys school

It’s not much help when you leave your successor 12 talented guys and 30 divas/cancer. People underrate how toxic the locker room got with Manny.
Didn't Manny turn things around winning 5 of the last 6, after starting like 2-4 & losing his starting qb to injury? But yeah sure, things were sooooo toxic under Manny 🙃. And this isn't even a "Manny shouldn't have been fired" post. Diaz needed to go, but so far his replacement has severely underperformed despite being given a historical amount of money and resources. You Cristobal slurpers kill me with your blind defense of him.
