Yea, so.. probably time to pump the brakes a little

I might be in the minority here but glad a game like this happened early. Too many rainbow and sunshine's going around the Canes team. Playing a high school team prior to and spanking them like you did allows for that "your ***** don't stink" attitude to creep in. Then you go up big in the first half against Wake and you're like "yeah we're the *****" talk to grow even more. But what happens? The classic losing the edge against your opponent and I'm going to chalk it up to that. The momentum swing occurs. On the road, a night game, and the home team gets that spark. Happens all the time in college ball.

What I am concerned over is the injuries. Too many three games into a season. The other issue is the OL. While some good took place last night, especially first half, the second half was disastrous as very little went right. And tip your cap to Wake, that DC of theirs who is legit, took our lunch and simply out schemed our boys.

Position players that I'd like to see out or play much less are SJ, Chase Smith, and Toure. For the OL, you are only as great as your weakest link and SJ is extremely weak. If he cannot be replaced, then we have some issues deeper than we would like to admit as fans. A big red flag. The second red flag is the veteran starting LB duo. A cool story and it should end there. The fact we are relying on two average at best LB's to start and receive majority playing time is disappointing with the young talent that sits on the bench. Pruitt, Wiley, and Marcelin should be playing more.

Anyway, done with my rant. On to the next, finish 1-0 next week Saturday night!

It was 31-7 before the team lost their edge. This isn’t like the 80’s where really good teams steamroll everyone by 40. If you don’t keep your intensity, play with focus, or the coaching staff gets conservative you CAN get beat. That being said, the injuries are starting to become a problem too. If you think about it we actually got pretty lucky last year with the injury bug for the most part. Even if our trenches aren’t as good as last year with Mensah at QB this team should still win the ACC and make the playoff.

Last night this team’s flaws were highlighted. The trench play is not there which is unsettling with that being Mario’s calling card.

Who is the homegrown leader of this group? Easy answer is Mali/Fletch but I do think you need team leaders on each of the lines to set the tone. Not sure who that is

Agreed. I was sitting there last night thinking beyond the talent that left the leadership is what’s really showing up. Who is the alpha leader on the defensive side of the ball that carries weight when they speak.

I have too. I knew after Stanford that we had some serious issues. Injuries certainly aren't helping.

Keep in mind there is a Friday night jinx on the favorite. But we do have problems.

Agree, I really couldn’t understand the point spread for that ND game but I do now.
 
- figure out best OL grouping
- get speed/tackling at LB
- is it me or our DT’s have zero pressure through 3 games? I really thought moten/scott would destroy teams
- someone needs to “smelling salt” dawson when he goes into these strange modes
- get this team on BPC-157

Yeah. With the mounting injuries. Our O line has issues. Our D line is not A+. Meaning not NC level. We are sledding. I watched that Texas and Bucknuts game. Both teams are far more complete. And then LSU and Bulldogs playing full.

We need to heal up, and get hungry. Otherwise the top of the ACC and them Dommers will eat us alive.

That's the truth so far.

LSU did not look good last week. They struggled for 3 quarters with Louisiana Tech. Everyone is trying to find themselves

Dawson dialed it back b/c our offensive line wasn’t doing its job & leaking like a sieve and we had players getting hurt left and right… Fletcher one of the best in pass protection for a RB was like the little Dutch boy when pressed into action

there were online leaks left and right- between SJ and or RT who should kick back to guard truthfully…. This is a flawed and now a team with little depth that doesn’t tackle well or block well Fletcher is gonna get killed if they don’t solve this offensive line mess!
