Xavier Restrepo reuniting with Cam Ward at the Titans; Restrepo signing with the Titans

Legit question , not bashing but you think sitting out the bowl game hurt his stock at all ?
Maybe a little, but not that much.

He was already a fringe 5th or 6th rounder to begin with. Playing the Bowl game only would've helped, but ultimately they don't really care that much about it.

There was enough tape on him throughout his college career to give an assessment & projection of where teams think he could've fit.

Coaches & Scouts saw him up close & personal at the Senior Bowl, so whatever questions they had would've been answered there.

What got him undrafted was running a **** near 5 40, which is an extremely bad time for a WR.

There were LB's & DE's who ran better than that, 4.8/4.9 40 is something an OT runs.

Scouts & GM's are usually pretty simple minded, they go by what they know & what they know is being small & slow is difficult to overcome in the league. Not impossible, but to them the Juice wasn't worth the squeeze.

Look its better to be UDFA than a 7th rounder.
And if he truly was injured when he ran his ****** 40, then I'm confident he will earn a spot on the team. Because if he's actually a 4.55 type of guy, then he's got the film and talent. Its possible this actually works out in his favor. He'll be on a 3yr deal instead of 4 year deal and open to extend after 2 seasons. Year 1 he'll likely be Wr4/5 in rotation, and hopefully next season wins a starting job. And then he's already negotiating a new deal

The bad news is they spent early 4th on **** so he's making team. Ridley, Jefferson, Lockett are the top 3 Wrs. Ayomanor was very underdrafted and should make the roster. So that's 5. Teams typically don't keep 7. So that means he's competing with Treylon Burks (former 1st rounder, but different regime and he's been complete ***), James Proche, and a few others. I think its down to Burks and Restrepo for 6th spot. Also Burks is probably the same role Ayomanor/**** would be filling so thats a good thing too. As well as the fact he has a head start on the connection with Cam already. Also wouldn't be surprised for him to be a PS guy or have a "season ending injury" that puts him stashed on IR for a year. Lockett is probably just a 1yr guy, Burks aint going to be back unless he breaks out.
Jacolby George was around that 4.5 number and he is easily faster than x.

it just was a terrible decision, the lone bright side is that cam ward maybe can vouch to keep him around he is gonna be fighting for a practice squad spot they drafted 2 locks to make the team at wr.

I saw the dolphins in the end zone when in high school. I think the ticket was $1.

not sure they are worth $1 anymore. GM Grier is a joke who can’t be fired. HC Mikey is a one or two trick pony who DCs quickly figured out.

And today the fins drafted a **** gator. I’m moveing on to a new team. TN it is!!
FIFY!

I hate that he didn't get drafted, but honestly, this might have put him in a better position than if he did get drafted. They have the chemistry, and the Tennessee WR room isn't that great. He won't start, but he could work his way into a respectable role.

X should be thrilled about going to the Titans with Cam. He gets to go somewhere & have incredible chemistry & trust from the likely face of the franchise for the next 10+ years. In the Not For Long League that is a huge plus. Had he gone to Cleveland in the 7th round, he might have languished & been cut quickly. He has a real shot now with the Titans to have a long & productive career. X should be elated it worked out this way.

I have a feeling they don't teach our players how to conduct interviews. Like, you gotta learn to flip the narrative on these mfers

He didn’t exactly sit out the bowl game. He went Nico Lamaleava and decided not to play when his money demand for the bowl game was refused. Probably at his POS agent’s urging. X didn’t get paid what he was worth on the field at Miami but it was poorly handled.

X needs to hire a coach that can teach him KR/PR and how to cover kicks ASAP. Then again a 4.9 guy that's little covering kicks might be a bad idea. So hire a speed coach first

He said it was before then and tried to push through it. Which can viewed as even dumber due to the already existing questions regarding his height.

If you know people are doubting you. Why give them any validation to doubt you? Just say "my film speaks for itself" and don't run to put any further doubt out there. The only way running a 40 could've helped him is if he was running sub 4.45s.

I want to know if he did this under the advice from same people who apparently advised him to sit out the bowl game? If true, he should do some hiring and firing.

If people were drafted solely based off of work ethic and production it would be different and I agree with you but strength of character and willingness to work do not mean much in the NFL. Running the 40 1000% dropped him from late round to UDFA. It's technically impossible to say for certain but I will not be convinced him running a 4.8 did NOT ruin his draft stock.
Of course it hurt I won't discount that... But in certain cases heart does matter.... Coaches and scouts can see when someone has that certain something that numbers don't show.... X will never be the best athlete on the field but the effort he plays with will go far once he hits the field... Intangibles matter... It's not the most important thing by any means but it matters...

Agreed, I just think X wanted to push himself and to please the many people who also have helped along his journey. As he stated, God has a plan for this young man.
