Xavier Restrepo reuniting with Cam Ward at the Titans; Restrepo signing with the Titans

I would be careful about assuming he can’t make that roster at a minimum The practice squad - if only to give cam what he wants around him.

you also have to remember they cam is going to feed him and practice to give him the best look possible. Additionally, their obvious connection in chemistry and shared mine accounts for .1-.3 in speed and how to play in space

Xavier Restrepo is a better WR than Chimere **** and Elic Ayomanor. @ me when they are all retired and X will have a better pro career.

His college and professional starting QB even knows that.

The hemming and hawing over 0.1-0.3 seconds on a 40-yard straight-line run is ridiculous. It's a number that might be valuable in evaluating potential to run go routes. But there's in-game speed measurement!

X not getting drafted seems like an example of perception becoming reality. Every GM that might have been interested in grabbing X assumed he'd be available as an UFDA- so it happened.

Not that X needs any extra motivation, but his going undrafted (and possibly feeling that he needs to prove to the Titans that he'd earn his spot with or without Cam).

If X wasn’t going in the first 5 rounds the best thing that happened to him was going undrafted and being able to choose where he wanted to go.Now he’s with a QB he knows and a QB that loves him and will help him make the team….

Good things come to those who wait ( or in this case are made to wait) and he couldn’t be in a better place to make it into the league.

Bech is 6'1" 214lbs and ran a 4.55 40.

View attachment 324293
Andrew Armstrong is 6'3" 204lbs and ran a 4.50 40.

Restrepo is 5'9" 209lbs.

Gauntlet: Restrepo 19.11, Armstrong 18.56, Bech 17.63
Circus: Restrepo 17.12, Bech 17.07, Armstrong 17.01
Dagger: Armstrong 17.57, Bech 17.01, Restrepo 16.74
Go: Armstrong 20.51, Bech 20.19, Restrepo 19.46
Over Shoulder: Restrepo 16.79, Armstrong 16.57, Bech 16.07
Slot Sail: Bech 17.93, Restrepo 17.68, Armstrong 17.46

Now I'm not saying these numbers are everything, but clearly on the deeper routes it's where The other two clearly get to a higher gear. And I'm sure that would be evident in Restrepos 40 time. But there is no way Restrepo is actually a >4.8 40 guys. Armstrong is a 4.50 guy, and Bech is a 4.55 guy. Neither are very athletic, so I'm not even saying Restrepo is actually a good athlete. Those guys have HEIGHT which Restrepo doesn't have. But No way Restrepo is worse than a 4.65 guy, period.

And if he's telling truth about running 4.53-4.58 laser 40, this is how it changes his RAS

If His RAS is 7.86-8.38, He is absolutely drafted.
Another thing no one mentioned is Xavier was working with a speed guy and was running low 4.5's before the draft and he pulled his hamstring the day before Miami pro day. His biggest mistake was to run injured. He is fast and will prove it in mini camp and Titans workouts. The DB's having to cover him in camp with find out soon along with his coaches he is the steal of the draft. should have been a 2nd rounder with his talent and work ethic.

I know I'm bias, but I've been watching this happen to X since high school. Being underestimated and/or judged due to his appearance and/or physical traits is literally his life story. That's what fuels him. This is just another chapter in that story.

We can sit here and talk about forty times and measurables until we're blue in the face...
But when it comes to PLAYING THE GAME OF FOOTBALL, there are few better than X.
And it's kinda wild that a player can be a First Team All American, a Biletnikoff finalist and break every receiving record at a program filled with Hall Of Famers...and still not get drafted. (while DE's who have registered 4 sacks in their career go 1st round)

That's the current climate of football that I'm not a fan of.

And it's not like this approach has never failed. We see it fail all the time. That's how we have guys like Julian Edelman and Adam Thielen. Yet we still continue to use this formula.

And you’d know better than anyone @CoachMacho… serious question here. We all know everyone has different physical makeups. Do you believe his playing weight should remain in that 210lbs? It’s pretty abnormal for a slot receiver at 5’9ish. Could he be more explosive at 200lbs or even 195? He seems like he’s a pretty disciplined young man so I don’t think it’s bad weight per se… but like he put on too much muscle mass. Like he’s lifting with the OL or something, lol.

I heard a retired NFL player once say a coach told him “Son, you’re going to lift yourself out of a position.” Because he was a skill player that liked to workout and he was getting too big.

What are your thoughts on X when it comes that if you don’t mind sharing?

For the naysayers..if you don’t believe he will make the roster because you don’t think he’s flat out not good enough based on watching him for 5 years that is one thing..everyone has the right to their opinion. But to base this strictly off a 40 time of 4.9 which we all know is not his actual game speed..again..after watching him for 5 years…is ridiculous.

The first thing I’m sure he will do in camp is run that 40 again and put this all to rest and you can bet that the Titans will publicize what the time was. This will all be settled soon.

I don't doubt that he was banged up if he said it but let's be honest here. If he was indeed a legit 4.5 guy, why would he go UDFA? Wouldn't the teams take into account his 40 time while injured?

He needs to be under 195. I've been saying it for years. The kid works his butt off and takes his body very seriously. There's absolutely no way that he added "bad" weight. He's rocked up. But he's always had a propensity to put on muscle mass.

He needs a regimen that's going to maintain, not add.

GOD NEVER FAILS…

Can’t wait for titans camp!!!
Imagine the receivers and db’s laughing at the slow midget udfa.
They’re about to be put in the spin cycle.
X has had a chip his whole life and they just gave that chip a whole stack of Mexican pharmaceuticals.

“Outside receiver Jacolby George was most instrumental in recruiting Ward to Coral Gables, so the expectation was he'd be Ward's favorite target too.

Then a funny thing happened: Restrepo just kept getting open. And Ward, who clearly never turns down the opportunity to build a relationship, noticed.”

I would have X with a higher grade than Andy Isabella ten times out of ten; speed discrepancies considered.

“Ward's leadership traits are no secret at this point. Cooney remembers being blown away that one of Ward's first requests upon transferring to Miami was for a picture book with every Hurricanes staffer's name and face in it so he could introduce himself to everyone in the building by name when he arrived on campus.”

That’s CEO **** right there. Every time I think I can’t love this dude even more, I read something like this. He would make a great coach after he’s done in the NFL.

And love how Cooney talks about X’s work ethic. I definitely think it sets him apart and will get him on the team.
