BOOM! to this. you guys act like we got gashed for 300 rushing yards or something. **** according to this thread, not one DT/NG played well last night but for some reason we were able to hold their running game in check. (insert the "Vtech sucks crowd"..Even though this is the same Vtech team that beat OSU and Palmer/Pollack even alluded to that fact.)

Im not saying im back on the bandwagon..but the Dline played pretty stout if you ask me. Wyche wont be able to really show what hes got until the end of this year/next year. Thats when we can really grade him. Hertolou too. You guys act like every JUCO dlineman is Nick Fairley. **** where is Javon Hooks right now? Lol. Man I swear I watch Ole Miss games just to see if he is getting any burn and we all thought he would singlehandidly save the defense when he was recruited..

Point is that it takes time for these JUCO guys. Especially DT/NGs because they most likely come in out of shape anyway.

A few things:

1. This is not inferred at all in my thread.

2. VT's offense is terrible and their QB may be the worst we face all season. Stop acting like everything is great in the world because we beat VT.

3. No one is saying that everyone is Nick Fairely, how about a solid contributor or is there nowhere in between? If it takes time, then why no REDSHIRT him (if possible)? This only validates the question.

I never said that the world was back on its axis because we beat Vtech. All I said was that the Dline played well enough to hold their rushing attack in check..You cant at least give them that?

That QB was no worse then Tommy Armstrong and the Gtech QB and they both kicked our heads in... Buddy had no running game to support him so our guys just pinned their ears back. Plus the whole Vtech offense was bad. Not just him. We agree on that..Vtech wasnt good. But they somehow mustered up a win vs OSU so....who knows.

I think people have answered your question a few times..Wyche cant redshirt or refuses to be redshirted..either way its a moot point at this time in the season. Who would be our 3rd string NG? Corey King? No thanks. Besides, they already redshirted Earl Moore. Depth will come into play here at some point.

Perhaps things changed when he was delayed so much (late arrival) that we should have explained it to him it that it was in his best interest. Well whatever, just a question because he is terrible (yesterday) and out of shape.

I agree he has a long way to go. Would love to see if he played better in a 4-3 scheme. Guess we will never knw.
 
If we are going to play him, might as well just have him dive forward when the ball is snapped & take up space.

Lots of space.
 
He plays like he is SAWFT. Which I kinda had a feeling of from watching his tape and seeing no physical moves and way too many swim moves.

He cannot redshirt. Get whatever you can out of him over the next year and a half.

I think DL - particularly DT - is one of those positions you literally have to throw numbers at the problem and see what pans out - along with OL it's just so hard to predict body type, conditioning, work ethic, etc. based on film. We got Moten, Jenkins, and Wyche. Jenkins is a stud, Moten looks the part, and Wyche is behind. For every Jenkins there is a Wyche (turn turn turn.)

Apparently Wyche was a 2011 guy. So, this is his fourth year out of HS. I don't know the details of where he has been, but it looks like he RS in JUCO.

I think Wyche has been enrolled in a JUCO for 2 years and that is all.

When he committed to USC, they said he had 2 to play 2. When he committed to us there was a story in the Palm Beach Post that said he had played for 3 different JUCOs.

He must have redshirted at one of them. I can't say. That part of his story seems to be missing.
