Wyche Decommited

It's obviously not the staff's fault Wyche didn't qualify (if in fact that is the true reason).

But you better ******* believe it is the staff's fault that we were in a position where we HAD to count on Wyche qualifying. You can't put yourself in a situation where you're completely depending on 1 guy hold the position together....what if Wyche would have qualified and torn his ACL the first day of summer practices? We'd be in the same **** anyways.

They have nobody to blame but themselves....the failures of recruiting the DT position coupled with abomination of a scheme that is obviously turning some kids off are just maddening.

I don't need to read more paragraphs of excuses. The DT recruiting during the staff's tenure is an F, and it will hurt us on the field.

I agree that the recruiting has been a clusterf8ck at DT, and it will hurt on the field. I didnt give excuses, i simply pointed out that wether they knew or not, doesnt really change the bottom line. The kid didnt have 3 semesters at the same JUCO and per ACC rules, he was not getting in, wether the staff knew it or not.

And I tend to agree with Ridler, they probably did know, but are desperate for bodies, so they were hoping to at least get him in for the Fall. There is no question last year's failulre at DT really hurt us.

Does Junior Alexis want to take another shot at this DT thing?

Didn't Hunter Knighton also play DT in HS? He can be our next Matt Walters!

YOu laugh but Butch did this. I dont get why these guys dont move some OL to DT. IF we are hurting for big bodies, move a F*CKING OL to DT. We cant seem to buy a f*ckiong break recruiting that position.

Ding ding ding!

Wyche is getting paid.

/Has that excuse been used yet? If not, I am officially using it.

How does the staff not know the ACC ruling and know he is a long shot to get in through appeal? That's ignorant and messed up. We better have two duffel bags ready for TV and Gilliard this weekend.

SMh! Complete fail by UM

Why is everyone freaking out? The "ink isn't dry" on the kid's tweet and everyone already is concluding the worst. He wasn't going to be here until May anyway. Give the thing a chance to work itself out. Maybe he shows up in May anyway and all of the hysterics are for nothing. We'll know soon enough whether or not this turns out to be a problem.

Maybe because there has been no one in the history of modern-era Miami football besides Al Golden who has failed this hard at recruiting DTs

So guys, when the defense inevitably is an abortion next year, do we give Golden 3 more years because he still doesn't have the requisite talent at important spots on the roster?

If he can get into a BCS program, but not here, thats all you need to know about how much our school admin "loves football".

If it's an ACC rule, then that says all you need to know about how incompetent our football admin is, as they overlooked it.

Either way, this entire program is a goddam joke. We spent millions on a new basketball stadium, and on a "recovery pool", but have Mo Larry and Curly running things.

For some reason thats what people like to do on here. They overract to everything, and they seem to know ALL the answers.

They did know the rule and that it was a long shot to win the appeal. That is why they were expecting him to come in May.

Not to mention the excellent historical track record of kid's decommiting from a particular school and eventually ending up there.

So that's two stud DTs that we can't get bc of the absurd inflated standards this administration forced on its players.

And Wyche's tweet does nothing to move the needle on that one way or the other. A kid that wasn't going to be here until May apparently announced that he's opening his recruitment up. At least until Signing Day, that means nothing.

If we have another kid sign that we're not counting on now, this may be a net zero event. In fact, it may be that we encouraged Wyche in this direction for that reason. I'm not saying that's what's going on here, but we should at least wait for the outcome. No sense overreacting if that turns out to be the case.

If he gets into another BCS program I'd be inclined to say the entire thing is bull**** and the kid just got swayed by another's school's pitch.

I'm sure Golden gets 1 or 2 "freebies" a year where administration cuts him slack....given the absolute dumpster fire we have going on at that position I'm sure Golden called in every favor he could think of to get him in.
