Wyche Decommited

This coaching staff is a joke.

This has nothing to do with the coaching staff.

You mean to tell me the fact that Miami continues to struggle recruiting DT's, let alone elite DT's, has nothing to do with the coaching staff? It is incompetence.

This situation dont have anything to do with the staff. I dont know how anyone can say its the coach's fault because the ACC has a rule where you have to be a JUCO for 3 semesters before you enroll into school.

It's not their job to know that.

That is a fair point, and something we can scream about, but guess what? It STILL wouldnt have changed Wyche not having the 3 semesters, so he wouldnt have qualified ANYWAY. We went after Stuckey first remember? Who had to pull out when it looked like he wouldnt qual. Then Wyche, McDowell sent his paperwork down to UM to see if he would qual, and then went elsewhere. It wasnt like these guys didnt try to get every swinging d*ck they could, we just cant catch a **** break between admissions and stupid policies.

I agree the staff should have known about the ACC rule, but I dont see what difference it would have made at the end of the day. IF he didnt have the 3 semesters, he wouldnt have gotten in anyway. Its not like we STOPPED recruiting DTs. McDowell was still being looked at. Huertelou was on the Down Low until he annouced for us. They have been after Sawyers, and Gaillard, with the TV saga going on. The only other option was someone like Ceneroud, and everyone here would have screamed "Plan D JAG" anyway. The end result was still the same sh*t show. We seem CURSED at that **** position, and it goes back to before this staff.

Who said that they didn't know? As desperate as we are for DTs, maybe they took a chance with him to see if he can appeal the rule but he got denied. You cant blame them not trying.

Shouldn't the coaches know whether or not a player is eligible to get in? They recruited this kid; therefore, THEY ARE RESPONSIBLE. This is a **** up on them, not anyone else.

I don't need to read more paragraphs of excuses. The DT recruiting during the staff's tenure is an F, and it will hurt us on the field.

Probably because it is the staff's jobs to know ACC recruiting rules.

The staff knows the ******* rule. Wyche isn't the first JuCo player we've been after and he wouldn't even be the first one we landed. This is just another case of us being so desperate because of our past failures that we took a chance on a kid doing the right thing for us because we need him instead of taking the easy way out.

Sorry, don't buy it. He has already signed a LOI in December. He would have to be released and he knew about the ACC rule ahead of time. Calling BS.

Due ACC rule I am opening up my commitment and De committing meeting from the University of Miami.

GTFOH with this crap.

So guys, when the defense inevitably is an abortion next year, do we give Golden 3 more years because he still doesn't have the requisite talent at important spots on the roster?

I just think that there is more to this than an "ACC rule"

I do too. It does not make sense that it would be that rule at this point, at least based upon the info that I've read out there. What I don't know is whether the "more" is a light at the end of the tunnel or an oncoming train.
