Seriously WTF is SEC mentality?

Pro style offense? Miami started that in the 80s

Speed all over on defense? Miami started that in the 80s

Dominant Special Teams? Miami started that in the 80s

Bigger Faster Strong? look at the championship UM teams and you will see who invented that

Swagger? everyone know who invented swagger

Seriously WTF is SEC mentality? all I hear from people at work is Miami is finally playing with a SEC type mentality

Its when they sit around and perform a circle jerk while simultaneously exclaiming that because of this act the SEC is the best conference.
 
Just substitute "Bama" for "SEC" any time someone brings it up. I've come to realize that every fan of every team in the SEC is just a big closet Bama fan. So as soon as their team loses a few games, they hop on the "SEC" (otherwise known as "Bama") bandwagon. So pretty much, the people at work are telling you that we are playing like Bama.
 
These young'uns didn't grow up watching Miami and FSU battle in the 80's and early 90's.

They think SEC set the dominant trend as they are easily impressionable watching ESPN push their SEC agenda down everyone's throats for years and years.

Miami was down, FSU was down, Southern Cal was slipping as Carroll was leaving, Michigan was getting beat at home by App State, and Tressell couldn't win a big non conference game for years. During this "down period" the SEC bagmen seized an opening, and parlayed that into a nice little title run by the conference. Saban couldn't cut it in the big boy league, so he went to Alabama where he could control everything again.

That's all the boys know, but they are learning it was just a phase.
 
It's the knowledge that the media will not only back up your delusions of grandeur but will often add to them. Oh, it's also an unnatural sexual attraction to blood relatives mixed with a healthy dose of racism and poor dietary habits.
 
ESPN covers sports like Fox News or MSNBC covers politics.


It's all agenda driving and self-aggrandizing.

Spot on. The same person that writes Hannity and Maddow's talking points probably churns out the SEC spin of the day to be distributed at eSECpn headquarters. It's an efficiency at disseminating propaganda that Putin and Jong Il are extremely envious of.
 
In a nutshell it's when ESPN hypes you so you get a preseason ranking you don't deserve.
See you end up getting credit for beating ranked teams in conference that don't deserve to be ranked.
USCe has been playing this rolle for years...food for other sec teams.
Then when you happen to loose out of conference ESPN will spin it and make you look better.
Lastly the head of the ncaa is an sec man so.....go to town.....it's all taken care off.

Worst thing about Emmert is that he's a wannabe SEC good ol' boy. He's actually from the University of Washington but derives his self worth from his time at LSU.
 
Believe the ACC va SEC is 2-2 so far this year Clemson , FSU won and NC and VT lost. May have missed another game ,but at least breaking even so far.
 
According to most around here "SEC mentality" means knowing where the Bagman is at all times.

Win at all costs so your dumba$$ fans that have no life can feel good about something. Cheat as much as possible, but keep your plausible deniability intact. That's SEC mentality.

It's commiting crimes with the with the assumption that they'll be covered up by the university/boosters and not covered by the national media. This is the same reason FSU thinks they're an SEC type school.
