Are these the same evaluators of talent who had Malachi Toney as a 3 star and D*ckey, Innis and Hakeem Williams as 5 stars?
I guarantee you that the person who made this list has not seen at least half, if any, of the people in this top 10. It’s as much of a joke as the lady who ranked UF above USF after their game.

Right now I will trust the people doing the evals at UM over any so-called expert. If UM really wants a player who ends up elsewhere, I will believe his ranking.

100% agree.

We've had the same debate a million times on the boards -- that there's a high correlation between composite ratings and NFL draft success, implying that the higher ranked recruits perform at a higher level in college, thus having a higher probability of getting drafted (and drafted in higher rounds).

The problem with that argument has ALWAYS been that it's a population study -- across all recruits, a composite 5 star has a higher probability of being drafted than a composite 4 star etc. What it doesn't do is tell us whether or not our specific staff meets, exceeds or underperforms the mean, and by how much and with what consistency.

We've had countless 4 and even 5 stars flame out at Miami between Butch and Mario, way underperforming the norm. Butch crushed the curve, and I believe Mario is well on his way to doing so, too. Because, as you note, our evaluators are much better than the evaluators across the recruiting site. They're a sawed-off shotgun, our staff is the sniper rifle.

The relative rankings break down when accounting for eval accuracy, along with class balance, impact on team balance and culture fit. I'd take our #14 Mario class over Billy Napier's #10 class every time.

It was similar last year when we flipped Moore. Many were questioning his speed and even thought he would end up at TE.Hopefully Wingo can be as good.

I was one to question Moore speed and competition i love to eat crow, especially when they contribute right away!

It’s early but the 2025 class we were all *****ing about is looking solid. Almost every kid has played and Lowe would have had he not been injured
Yep. Its incredible how good the early hit rate looks to be. Two star quality guys in Toney and Lowe. And immediate rotational contributors in Moore, Gilbert, Schott, Simpson, Fitzgerald, Antoine, Pringle, and Wiley. Then you have Nickel and all the OL kids cooking behind the scenes with no real reason to rush their development at all. Class was ranked 13th but we are getting top 5 level results.
