WR position officially wide open

What I have seen in back to back games is Lashlee identifying a new toy, focusing on using it right away, failing, and then back to same ol thing in passing game.

2 weeks ago he decided Payton on WR screen was going to revolutionize offensive football. Tried it 2x with monster lead blockers like Harley and went 0-2 and then forgot Payton was on the team.

Last week it was Rooster on the swing pass, fail/fail and then back to same ol thing.

We need to see a diverse passing game with X, Smith, and redding. Roll the vets in and out but make sure King doesn't default to wiggins deep, pope WR screen and Harley intermediate.
Sooo many of our CIS experts ignore this point you make here and will blast you as a "mope" for even calling out Lash, without even understanding what the psychology behind a coordinator is...let alone how to play this game.
Lash has shown stubborn tendencies (like all coordinators IMO) when he could scheme more effectively with the weapons we have and at the same time fit with what King is capable of...

He's young and only just now getting good coaching. I wasn't bashing him at all because truth is there aren't many tackles who won't struggle with what he's faced the past two weeks. I just like what Zion has shown in games so far this year. That kid has come a long way.
Zion for the most part I would say best Weaver on the day. Pitt moved him around bc he wasn’t able to beat Zion enough. Give Zion a shot at LT when Williams is back

Thus far I'm still on team Lashlee. This is really my only ***** to this point, other than perhaps not taking any chances on third down vs Pitt....

To me there is a time and a place for all of these plays and the timing of the call is a great indicator of the success of the play. For example....if you are the OC for UVA this week and you do not call some type of misdirection pass play with an easy dump off throw in the flats then you should be fired.

I love the flare pass to knighton just not twice in the first ten plays.

No spring really and shortened fall practice. Makes sense to give a little extra time to prove there worth but time should be up.

We will never know because we can not change that. I suspect with a normal off season would have seen changes a lot sooner. No proof offensive staff playing favorites. Whole offense had to learn new system with 3rd coordinator in 3 years. Think the staff doing decent with what they inherited

Who’s worse in your guys’ opinion Jennings or McCloud? I personally think McCloud is the worst I’ve seen in a while. Jennings is just slow

Fly route for Keyshawn on 1st down please.
Campbell gets beat around the edge, King scrambles ahead for a 12 yard gain, announcers proceed to gush over King & Lashee while pointing to stats (4 TD last week for King), scored 31 or more points in 4/5 games in 2020 after disastrous 2018-2019, and so on. Drive ends in a Lou Hedley punt, announcers mention Hedley's Aussie Rules background. Defense takes the field, allows multiple 3rd down conversions, hold UVA to a FG.

Lol how does this change anything? If this is based on what they do in practice does that mean they've been basing their personnel decisions prior to this week on something other than practice?

does this mean it hasn't been an open competition at the position all year? They just handed starting gigs to THESE WRs?

If the criteria for getting more snaps doesn't change then how are the results going to change? And if the criteria isn't performance then what the **** was it?

This just makes the coaching staff look bad, imo

This should be a moot point because unless Lashlee is a major ******* Jordan & Mallory will be on the field for every snap.

In fact, our WRs are so poor that our new base operation should be 22 personnel.

QB King
RB Harris
RB Knighton
WR Pope
TE Mallory
TE Jordan

Chaney, Smith, Redding, Restrepo, Hodges off the bench.

Think of the possibilities:

Knighton getting matched up against an LB like Cook vs Bama last week.
Mallory lined up at TE2, HB, WR on a given play.
2x2 with Jordan & Pope on one side / Mallory & Knighton on the other.

Get with the program, Asslee.
I’ve told people that we’ve seemed to be running some vanilla *** sht.
But Im an xo moron so I’m likely talking about something I don’t know about.

Elevating better players on the depth chart is a bad look...ok Would you rather them stick with it just for optics sake or something?

There was minimal pre-season this year to evaluate guys. I'm not all that surprised the upperclassmen got the nod for most positions bc of that.

Man, if it would be this easy. You should be an offensive coordinator on an elite program.

Wait a minute...

Holy ****, this conclusion is so far off, I am struggling to find fitting adjectives.
