Why do people still listen to this guy? If Hank ends up as the WR coach, this jabroni was still just guessing.

Gimme Reggie Wayne, if he's not kept in Indy. His credintials blows Hartlines out the water. He's also a great teacher and motivator. Come home Wayne.
I wonder what the time split is regarding coaches in the league vs the college level. Do you get more time off as an nfl pos coach or college pos coach? Also, if Reich likes him, could offer WR Coach in Carolina too

Look at how NFL coaching/front office circles are run. It’s networking. Not saying Hanks full intent was to use the Miami interview, if there was even one to use as a reference down the road.
The point which happens all the time in NFL circles when coaches take interviews for jobs they know they aren’t going to get because it’s get them face time with powerful people and helps them build a connection. Look at the patriots, everyone and their mother knew they were bringing back Bill o brien, but people still lined up to interview with Bill because now bill knows them and their capabilities. Say a GM or another head coach ask Bill in casual conversation what he thinks of a coach, bill can now say oh yeah we interviewed him for our OC job a few years ago, bright dude, he just wasn’t ready.
For hanks situation, Alonzo is clearly respected in NFL circles and I’m sure still gets asked about players and coaches. Hank could leverage his FaceTime with Alonzo to help build his reputation. Or it’s simply hey I love Miami, this isn’t the right time, glad we got to talk, maybe we can circle back in a few years. Now Mario and Alonzo know Hank.
Reputation and networking building.
One of my business professors told us he would interview for companies just to learn about their interviewing and hiring process and to network with them even though he had zero interest in taking the position
Yep. The checkbook needs to be opened up to get the best recruiter money can buy.
Anything else, the ability to “teach and develop” is a distant second to that. Especially in an Air Raid. I will worry about J. Smith not being able to learn the 5 passing plays in the offense, once he’s on campus.
Nice. He was a good guy.. How is he as a coach? Any specific reason you like him?He was at WK until 2020 & spent the last 2 seasons at WMU.
Chris Chestnut sounds like the result of a country music singer name simulatorThe same Chris Chestnut that was at Miami? Either under Golden or Richt's first year. Can't remember
