WOW

Now listen, Blake may wind up sucking and believe all those things. I don't know.

but every AD woud basically say the same thing even if they were thinking of forcing a coaches hand on staff or firing the HC. They rarely would come out publicly and undermine the coach before a decision has been made or more of the season has played out. And even if an ad forced the HC to make a staff change, they would never say anything other than the HC decided to make a change and he supports it.

now I don't know what Blake will prove to be or do, but anyone drawing conclusions from the above "AD SPEAK"'doesn't get it.

The AD's job is media perception as well as damage control in a situation like this. He isn't going to show his hand in public. We will know what type of AD he is by how long he lets this go on.

The dreaded votes of confidence.

Nothing too alarming in that interview. He'll support Golden until he doesn't (ie fires him) which makes sense. I'm sure they supported Shannon until they fired him also. And I agree that Golden should be given the freedom to make or break himself with his staff. If you don't trust your coach to hire/fire the right guys, you fire the coach--you don't start firing the guys under him especially when you have no idea who to hire.

Nothing wrong with what Blake James said in that interview. You hire a coach that can make the right decisions. If you have to micro manage someone then you didn't hire the right person. I truly think Golden knows it is in his best interest to cut ties with D'Nofrio at the end of the season. Even if he thinks this scheme can work it hasn't for 4 years. It's time to make a change. If he doesn't then that is when Blake can intervene and question Golden. This is when the ball will really start rolling on Goldens job. If he an Blake are at a disagreement then it will be over for Golden. Blake is backing him publicly now bc he believes Golden will make he right decision after the season. If that doesn't happen..Golden won't have much time next year.

I agree with everything you've written except the part about cutting ties with D'Onofrio. Cutting ties with D'Onofrio is the move of a maggot unless their relationship has actually soured and they can no longer work together. In the absence of a schism between the two, firing D'Onofrio is purely scapegoating and a maggot move given the fact that Grohlden has stuck with D'Onofrio all this time.

I don't put too much stock in anything he says. The fact that he feels he has to make the media rounds tells you things aren't going very well. You think he wants to answer all the questions that Furman was asking. But he's in damage control mode right now.

Another loss or two and I just don't see how Golden survives. This whole season has been nothing but a train wreck, but I wouldn't expect the AD to come out and say so.

Unfortunately we're just gonna have to wait until the end of the season to see what happens.

Blake James knows nothing about football. He should never get involved in schemes and all that. What he should look at is the embarrassing *** whoopings we take weekly and look at the overall program direction. In any case he was going to say nothing else than what he did. Its PR speak

James is terrible, terrible.

He's not even worth the new dining room

Not all AD's. Jeremy Foley currently and Barry Alvarez come to mind of AD's who basically said perform or GTFO!

You think Jeremy Foley is throwing Muschamp under the bus with the media. Up to this point Foley is all in. And nobody has more invested in Muschamp than Foley. And in my opinion Muschamp is a dead man walking especially after they lose to Georgia for the fourth year in a row.

Yeah, he hired Zook and fired him mid-season. He fired Andy Lopez after two bad seasons. Fired McMahon as well. What's fun is Lopez has won a national title at Arizona. Foley can have a short trigger because he has an alumni base that is both impatient and has MONEY. But he's giving Muschamp four years and he is on record being very supportive up to implying that Meyer left the program a mess.

Who has Alvarez fired? You're telling me Andersen is at risk. I think not.

Do you have a link to a Jeremy Foley quote that sounds anything like "perform or GTFO"? Thanks in advance.

Here's the last Foley quote to Mike Biachi on September 26th in the Orlando Sentinel:

"You never judge or evaluate a program based on one game or one season," Foley said. "That's just not how we do things here. We're going to evaluate where we're headed – where the players are, how is recruiting going, what type of staff we have — are we a better (program)? That's going to be plain for all of us to see, but it's also going to be played out over the course of 11 games and we'll see where we are when we get to the end of the season."

So we have people claiming that Foley is a shark who doesn't put up with any sht, but he says the exact same thing as Blake James.

This is the truth. When's the last time you saw Fake James making the PR rounds with the media? Never. That's when. He's out there trying to put out fires. It's not like he agreed to go talk to that anemic twaat Fairy German because he didn't have anything else better to do. He's all over the newspapers suddenly too.

yet, I bet you that Foley WILL make the move whereas James will do absolutely nothing. Just watch it play out.

James isn't wrong re: staff changes.

If I was a HC I wouldn't want the AD meddling with my staff choices. Blake's job is to evaluate Golden, not his assistants.

If this program isn't where it needs to be after 4 years, that's on Golden, not his assistants.

I'm on the side that believes that we are better served to cut ties with Golden, but I just didn't see a "wow" in that article. When he mentioned not forcing the guy to fire the DC, I actually agree with him. You don't force your head coach to fire a ****ty DC, you fire your HCinstead because obviously he's a fool if he won't fire his ****ty DC.

The WOW is that James is NOT even saying publicly let's wait until the season is over. I have a WOW for you...Do you think the U would've gone to T-Town and lose by just 21 to Bama? Do you honestly think that we would've lost to LSU by just three points in Sun Lifeless Stadium? (A RESOUNDING NO!!) I know those answers and so does the 98% of all the other posters on this site. The WOW sir is that Florida is tired of not winning those games they know they should be winning, us on the other hand continue to be in our own way.
