a part of that record is that we kinda “lucked” into Beck, and got our two best defensive transfers - and 3 starters in spring portal which no longer exists…. And we absolutely swing and missed on a top WR last year, and missed on portal Te imo…

I mean do you disagree what the current strategy appears to be is quite risky?

Maybe...I don't have enough information to make that assessment yet.
I 100% grant you that from the outside looking in without the complete data set it can seem risky.
I need to see what the final portal product looks like.

As far as Beck and the rest..sure some luck is involved but here we are and the W/L record is what it is regardless of the playoff run.
We did get in and we won two games and defeated the favorite defending champ.

To me (only speak for myself) that record grants this staff the benefit of the doubt.
 
It's not too late to find our guy, but Idk what made any of you think that landing Beck last year meant that we would automatically land someone this year.

This is exactly what makes banking on the portal a risky strategy. There's always going to be a year where supply can't match demand. It's still too early to say whether this is that year.

My issue is that even if I could hand pick who jumps in the portal, there aren't that many guys I'd actually want. **** any scenario where Emory starts though. I'd even take Lagway over Emory.

QB is the least of my concerns in the portal tbh

I think everyone underrates Lagway because he was at Florida. The reality is, he was playing for a bad coach but he can play and if you recall we wanted him pretty bad out of HS. I wouldn’t be ****ed if we took him.

Anyone around the program heard anything on our current QBs ? There any actual talent there?
