Soccer World Cup

Phantom?

No. No, no, no.

You want to know the first telling sign that it was a penalty? When the player who committed the foul does not protest.

Dembele didn't protest. He ran into the back of his heel and caused the trip.
Dembele didn’t even know there was a game going on today.

**** for brains is literally true. His former landlord in Germany sued him for a six figure because he left his former apartment in a disastrous state, literally leaving **** in the toilet.
Dortmund Tax (Dembele) in just about every deciding game this World Cup.

Not the biggest soccer fan but presented with opportunity to watch a world cup final with these story lines and two of the biggest stars of the sport and they both deliver the performances that they did, it was amazing especially that late 2nd half on. Have always heard about Messi and respect his greatness so cool to see what he achieved but Mbappe putting team on his back late and just goin on that all out assault was impressive as **** also.. To see what he has accomplish at young age is dope..

The passion the world has for sport anybody who is into sports can respect. Dope to see the high level of play and top players play their best with Legacies on the line.. INSANE ending
Most people have no idea how hard it is to score on that 2nd MBappe goal. That was World Class

This I am 100%. He was a monster.

Look up games or highlights with him, Ronaldinho, and Rivaldo (even) together. When these three or at least Ronaldo and Ronaldinho were both on: just forget it. Automatic win.
There's an infamous clip of French defenders Desailly and Lillian Thuram, who were two of the greatest defenders of their era, chuckling and laughing about Ronaldos stepover.

"You look down, the ball is there. You look up and then down and the ball is gone."

They were so terrified of him and these guys were brutal defenders. They took no **** from anyone, they were physical, big and really mean when you got close.

Messi had two Ballon d'Ors at the age of 22, was a two time Champions League winner at 24 and won another two Ballon d'Or whilst Mbappe is currently running around.

Don't talk to me about better careers. Don't even attempt it.
No but MBappe also didn’t have the best coach ever (Guardiola) nor the best supporting cast ever (Busquets, Xavi, David Villa, Pique, Iniesta, Henry, etc…..) on and on!

MBappe started at Monaco with scrubs and he’s been with scrubs at PSG until Neymar a few years ango and Messi arrived last year.

Also I forgot that Ronaldo won 2 world cups and made another final. The first one he was a partial contributor only but still testament to how close he was to winning three in his career.

Plus it can be argued that in one of Pele’s wc wins, Garrincha carried that team more than he did (not discounting Pele but just showing that even a career shortened Ronaldo came close to approximating Peles overall World Cup magnificence).

Didn't need more evidence but watching that game showed just how far away the US is from competing at the very highest level. Don't know if we have one player who would play a lot for either of those teams.

Di Maria had a hamstring injury all WC. I was surprised he played at all and thought it was a mistake. He proved me wrong lol

As for that thing with Lloris, well, shouldn't have been a foul called in the first place. Upamecano pushed the attacker into Lloris.
Agree!

Upamecano had a beast of a game on defense. That one block he made on a shot to the keeper that likely scores was huge.

The whole supporting cast will tell you that Messi ran the show.

As for Mbappe, he is playing in the most talented national team since Spain and people praise him the same way for his WC win? Doesn't add up.

And Mbappe arrived there after Neymar. They have been to a CL final where Mbappe failed to deliver. PSG has been a really good team for some time now, but they choke. A lot.

Mbappe is great, but for him to statiscally come close to the top, he needs to keep the current level, without any injuries, for a minimum of 10 years.

Fair to say Messi > Ronaldo??
Just very different players.

Ronaldo has done it in multiple leagues and re-invented himself several times along the way, eeking every ounce of talent there was out of his body (he used to be a tricky winger, now he's an out and out striker). Messi is obviously incredibly talented and just a footballing genius.

It really is six of one, half a dozen of the other. The debate is moronic, really. They've both had absurdly successful careers.
