Media partners have distinct criteria from university presidents and in today's realignment environment media partners carry more weight.I would think B10 would go after Ga Tech for sure. They love targeting big market schools

I could see it...I would think B10 would go after Ga Tech for sure. They love targeting big market schools
The "Big market school" theory didn't bear fruit in the case of Rutgers or Maryland. Also similar to BC. Large markets that are NOT college football focused don't bring viewers. Hence the B10 relying more on the MEDIA partners criteria "history of games with 4 million or more viewers".I could see it...
Again... I'm not knocking your points..... Just saying that as of now the Big10 is still operating within their status quo.... If it changes then fine it changes... I'm all for it ...but .. for now it hasn't... That's all...The "Big market school" theory didn't bear fruit in the case of Rutgers or Maryland. Also similar to BC. And this undoubtedly would lead to us breaking through in the Texas HS football recruiting scene. The Big 12 needs to add some major brands to remain viable long term (and get teams into the CFP).
Miami has a lot to offer the other potential conferences:
• Major media market (South FL). Miami alone is around the 12th largest TV market in the U.S. (add in Ft Lauderdale & other surrounding cities & towns and it’s Top 10)
• Powerful brand that draws eyeballs (Miami has been part of many of the most highly rated CFB telecasts of all time)
• Significant exposure for Miami’s opponents in some of the most fertile recruiting areas in the country
• Rich tradition of success at the highest level in CFB. Also has become a force in Basketball (no other program made to it to the Elite 8 and Final Four the last two yrs)
• Quality academics
• Many other factors
Maybe there should be two conferences, like the NFL, big 10 and ACC?Might as well shut the program down if you go to the Big 12. If you aren’t in the BIG or SEC then you will be left behind. Period.
Why wouldn’t the b12 take Duke? They’re a decent football program with a good coach and having duke and Kansas would be great for cbbIF they actually do vote to dissolve the ACC ... smartest move ... then
FSU + Miami = Big 10
UNC + Clemson = SEC
Pitt, Louisville, Va Tech, NC State = Big 12
Others ... regional conferences unless the B10 wants to grab Ga Tech and Duke for academics and the SEC takes UVA for geographic reasons.
Worst Case .... the GOR is ruled to be in force ONLY THROUGH 2027 ... and the option to extend the media rights .. since never approved by members ... is ruled void. THAT WAY
-Programs with a confirmed home (FSU + Miami + UNC + Clemson) leave the ACC
-Those remaining DO SO WITH THE OPTION TO SEEK A NEW MEDIA DEAL for 2028 and on.
IF the ACC actually dissolved so there was no exit fee ... then Duke would be interesting. Academically desirable by the B10 but doesn't have football viewership. Real interesting for BB for sure in the B12 ... adding Louisville, Kansas etc.Why wouldn’t the b12 take Duke?
