That’s a great observation. I didn't get to enjoy the 2000 Shockey catch. I was so mad we fumbled the possession before when we probably could’ve ran the clock out. But it was really loud. I read on the Wikipedia page that the OB around perhaps 2001-2002 had work done so that in effect the sounds of stomping on the bleachers weren’t nearly as loud. That’s why I was a little shocked how loud it got during the Mcgahee screen. The program was averaging almost 70,000 fans a game in 2002. I remember a game against BC in 2002 it was over 70,000 and fans were stomping on the bleachers and it still wasn't that loud. It seemed like after the work was done, the only time the OB got really loud was when UM would break a big play and the crowd would roar. It just wasn't deafening those last few years for a big defensive play for example.
