I keep forgetting how disgustingly fast Willis and Gore were pre kne injuries..

Chaney isn't as fast. Willis ran like a 4.3. Dude was one cut and gone.

People don't realize all of about three RB's in CFB history posted 1500+ yards and 25+ TD's in a single season. Willis was one. Barry Sanders was another.

Just as big of play that nobody ever talks about is Jason Geathers run of 11 yards up the middle for a score with 5:17 left. That was the game winning score.

If by a bunch you mean two, yes. Both well after McGahee's season. Doesn't change the fact it's an extraordinarily rare feat.

Willis gets overlooked because Gore avg 8 ypc during trash time and was going to be named the starter prior to getting hurt.

Willis was a boss and should've won every award that was available to him.

Yea I'll never understand why Gore didn't play against Ohio State when Mcgahee went out. Everyone knew Gore would only stay 3 years anyways (if he didn't get hurt in 2003 of course). For that matter, why wasn't Gore the 2nd string back going into that game. He could've gotten 10 carries or so in a backup role that game. I still can't believe we lost that game.

Back to Mcgahee, my favorite running back. He should've won the Heisman that year. He had 6 td's against VT early in the 2nd half. He could've walked in for 7 on that pick 6 by Payton to Dorsey.

The best part of that Mcgahee screen pass is right when he's around midfield and it looks like he's going to house it. The crowd went crazy. I don't think it had been that loud since the mid 90's.

He was the best RB in Canes history based on pure talent (bold take, I know). A **** shame we never saw him at full strength after that hit against OSU.

The power, speed, vision combo was different with him.

Mcgahee got almost every carry roughly speaking in 2002 every game. If you look at the rushing stats, it's like the guy never came out. I went to 5 home games that year (the most I had in forever, probably 1991) and every game he was getting a lion's share of the carries. It happened on the road too. He should've won the Heisman.
