Hope he stays, but money talks and I assume Willie came with a bunch of it.
Man, it's not about money if the guy goes—it's about going back home. Born in Tallahassee, went to high school there, played for Florida State and was a grad assistant for the Noles. (Also coached under Taggart for two years at South Florida.)
Richt got to come "home" to Miami; while Manny Diaz legit came home-home.
For Taggart it's all about where he wants to be. Is two years enough to make Miami a new home to him and is he digging coaching under his former offensive coordinator (Richt)—or is the lure to go back to his alma mater too much?
If some former Canes great was coaching at FSU and got the call to come back to The U, it's a no-brainer and has nothing to do with money. The minute the roles are reversed, it's only a money decision to go?
Furthermore, Florida State doesn't have some astronomical athletic department budget—and Miami isn't exactly underpaying its assistants these days.
He aint going to leave for an unproven HC coach regardless of where the job is... that's plain stupid. He could be out of a job in 3 years, off to some other lower level bs job.
