Willie in 305

Hope he stays, but money talks and I assume Willie came with a bunch of it.

Man, it's not about money if the guy goes—it's about going back home. Born in Tallahassee, went to high school there, played for Florida State and was a grad assistant for the Noles. (Also coached under Taggart for two years at South Florida.)

Richt got to come "home" to Miami; while Manny Diaz legit came home-home.

For Taggart it's all about where he wants to be. Is two years enough to make Miami a new home to him and is he digging coaching under his former offensive coordinator (Richt)—or is the lure to go back to his alma mater too much?

If some former Canes great was coaching at FSU and got the call to come back to The U, it's a no-brainer and has nothing to do with money. The minute the roles are reversed, it's only a money decision to go?

Furthermore, Florida State doesn't have some astronomical athletic department budget—and Miami isn't exactly underpaying its assistants these days.

I don’t envy his current predicament tho.

Dude loves CMR, however, that’s his Alma mater with a close friend at the helm.

Given more cash and offensive play calling duties, it'd be tough to say no to. Although.. alma mater or not, it is TRAILERHASSEE.

If the guy goes I’ll wish him luck.WHY? Because the guy could have gone before signing day and threw a wrench, however minor, into the signing class.
I fault no one for wanting to get a raise,a possible bump up in title and a chance to go home.We can find someone to replace him without looking real hard.Im sure there’d be a quick list of very qualified coaches trying to get at these kids we have here.

I’m hoping the man doesn’t go but if he does I’ll remember HOW he left and wish him well and tell him I hope you enjoy your youngsters whipping your *** for the next 4 years..

Good luck to him if he goes. Can’t blame someone for going home if the opportunity arises. Miami will be alright. There are good recruiters/WR coaches all over America.

Barry Jackson just said he asked Dugans if he'd be the WR coach next year and Dugans declined to comment. TIFWIW. Still holding out hope he stays based off Tweed's confidence.

Miami Hurricanes excited about new receivers, tight ends | Miami Herald

Welp

Unacceptable. If we can't compete with FSU in keeping our good coaches we will never be a championship level program again.

Dugans is worth the extra money. He got production out of mediocre guys like Langham. The WR core was one of the most consistent, hard working and toughest blocking groups in college football and he's an A plus recruiter.

Pay the man.

Where are you hearing he'd be given ANY playcalling duties? He'd be 3rd in line on that side of the ball behind Tagfart and whatever bum they get as OC.

It's not money.

It's going back to his alma mater AND getting a Co-OC title, which Taggart is offering.

As others have said, can't hate him if he goes. He did a great job here and helped turn the position around. At the same time, no WR coach in the country is irreplaceable. Richt has made excellent hires so far and has extensive contacts. I'm confident he'll hire someone good to replace him.

If you're a good college team, your coaches are going to get poached. that happens even at Alabama

He'd get a Co-OC title, but Taggart calls the plays, just like Richt
