If Miami ends up 10-1 on Dec. 19th, 2020, will the CFB Playoff committee be in a pickle?

Say:
Alabama beats Florida

Notre Dame beats Clemson again.

Now you probably have

1. Alabama

2. Notre Dame

3. ???

4. ???

7-1 Texas A&M who got destroyed by Alabama.
9-0 Cincinnati who has played no one.
9-2 Iowa State or 8-2 Oklahoma
6-2 Georgia
or
10-1 Miami who got destroyed by Clemson

So buckle up, the next two weeks will be memorable.

Nope. In other words, the odds of all the best case scenarios falling in place for Miami to sneak in at No. 4, are slim to none. But U never know. huh?

10-1 Miami will not make the CFP. Now if we talk about interesting CFP scenarios, Say ND beats Clemson and Florida beats Bama and Ohio State DOESNT play in the conf. Championship. There could be 3 SEC teams in the CFP sadly.

I wouldn't wager any of your assets not making the major CFB playoffs! Matter of fact, I EXPECT mighty Ohio St. to be one of those playoff teams.

Or, to put it another way. I lay 3:5 odds Ohio St is in the playoffs!

Sure, Miami makes the CFP if every team ahead of them right now loses every game they have left. Absolutely realistic scenario, too.

Spend no more time than reading those 2 sentences on this topic. UNC is all that matters, then the Orange Bowl if you beat UNC.

There was a thread not too long arguing about whether Cane fans should want FSU to be good or not. Most were in the "F* em" camp and we all likely feel that way about FSU; but the nuance is that when they suck, their isn't a whole lot of appeal in our schedule. Here's where it hurts. Assuming we beat UNC, that'll be the only real high quality win. Nationally speaking, we may be considered irrelevant despite a 10-1 schedule. A bowl win would do wonders for our national appeal.

No we got blown out and embarrassed by Clemson with their foot off the gas half the game. We need to be worried about looking competitive going against UNC than hopefully looking competitive against whatever team matches up with us in the Orange Bowl.
