I do think Wiggins is a baller and underrated but this will be one of the few times we disagree. 3 of the 4 I can confidently say that I believe they have a higher ceiling than Wiggins.(Only issue is, sometimes some kids don't reach ceiling) I think he's fair trade if Richt doesn't want him and replaced with a Malek, Becker, Shyheim or Mullen in his place.

This is all hypothetical at this point. Malek, Becker and Shyheim will be visiting but Mullen remains a long shot until we get Victor confirmed for a visit with Malek.


As 01 mentioned. If it's Devron for Wiggins spot. I won't be too happy.

I would like to keep Wiggins though just for the fact that Cook is not a done deal to flip and we need another safety in the class. Wiggins I have pegged as a CB/S prospect. Byrd can too but I would prefer to leave him at CB.

Becker has ability to play safety as well.

- Carter and Becker would be in the next tier. Really talented players with high ceilings. Hopefully we can pull off a miracle with these two.
- Young and Wiggins are a tier below Carter/Becker, but they're solid DBs who should have a spot in this class if they want one.

Devron Davis shouldn't even be in the discussion. It's disappointing that he was one of the first players offered by Richt while Wiggins has yet to be contacted.

Good post, only thing I disagree on would be...

Mullen and Carter would be in the elite tier. Byrd would be there too but we already have him.

Malek I have between the 2nd tier where Becker is(Becker has a ridiculous ceiling, can be elite if he reaches it) and 3rd tier. His height is what hurts him as prospect.


I think Malek is more dynamic than Wiggins but Wiggins more versatile on the defensive side as he can play both CB and S. He is more size ready than Malek.

Malek was honestly the best pure football player I saw at the South Florida Shootout, was ridiculous on both sides. Wiggins a little more polished as a DB imo. Malek more raw at DB but has a knack for making plays regardless of where he is at.

I feel like we all have to be patient and let this play out. Richt is really leaving us in the dark by us not knowing who his staff is because those guys will have little to no time to get their guys, also it may turn into a situation where parents are ****ed the coach left a school after recruiting their son for three years at that school, if we do not bring in a strong staff it tells me Richt was waiting to find better options and couldn't. If a Corey Raymond type guy is brought in to coach DBs then DB recruiting will get really interesting. Timing is now the key to our recruiting finish this year. Wiggins imo is a big loss only if you can not replace him with better talent like most mentioned in this thread and I would not considered Young a big time replacement.

Only reason Wiggins should be dropped is if we already have 6 DBs more talented then him committed. Which is unlikely, I'm more worried about him making a run for it if Hamilton goes.
