Wiggins

Looks like he IS being dropped:

Wiggins (5-11, 180) had setup an official visit for this weekend but now that appears to be off. In fact, he's not sure how much longer his commitment will last either.

"They haven't contacted me about the visit and that's pretty much it," Wiggins said. "It's all quiet so I'm not sure how they feel about me. I don't know what's happening and I'm most likely going to decommit soon."

A new program has decided to move quickly with Wiggins and they're hoping that will pay dividends even before national signing day.

"I'm going on an official visit to Illinois starting tomorrow," Wiggins said. "I'm actually doing a home visit with them tonight. Next weekend I'm not sure anymore, Temple hasn't called to give any information. I'm making my final decision on Monday though anyway."

The Fighting Illini's efforts are being led by a familiar face for Hurricane fans. Wiggins had pre-existing relationship for obvious reasons.

"Paul Williams was the defensive backs coach (at Miami) and now he went to Illinois," Wiggins said. "He contacted me and said they have an opening for me to play right away. We've been talking more and more so we decided to setup a visit this weekend."

Cincinnati is the other main program in the mix for Wiggins. They became the first school outside of South Florida's borders to host him on campus for a visit.

Feel bad for the kid - you know that has to suck. It's like getting dumped by the prettiest girl in town.

Such is life though. Welcome to CFB.

He'll still get to play ball and attend college for free somehwere. Good luck BRO.

It happens when there's staff turnover. Hopefully Richt's got some better talent on the line.

I don't like it but whatever. Sh*t happens during a coaching change and I would gladly trade him for someone like Romeo Finley or quintet cephus

I hate when schools drop a kid who is committed and don't even have the courtesy to just tell him that they're doing so. Just ignoring him and hoping he figures it out is childish. The longer you let a kid think he is still going to be able to come to your school is less time that he has to line something up elsewhere. I'd expect better from all the adults involved in this.

Agree, man up and tell the kid he no longer has a spot. Everyone hates when kids play a school but these coaches do the same.

I blame it on the UGA AD, he forced Richt not to call Wiggins.

We're racking up ATH/WR/DB types, so Coach Rhule very well could've put in a good worth with Paul.

Pete said that he was contacted by Rumph soon as dead period ended... oh well wish him well though....

This happens everywhere, harbaugh just dropped like 4 kids, personally, I would like to keep the South Dade connection, they have some dudes next year that should be priorities, I personally like wiggins more than young just talking defense. I hope we have a silent for the reason of dropping wiggins.

Im thinking Miller takes his spot. May even get McWilliams to flip this weekend

Wigging was an explosive track athlete over 23 feet in the long jump in track.

The thing to notice with most of these guys we're dropping is look at the other few schools actually recruiting and offering them. They don't really have a lot if any good options.

But Wiggins is actually good and plays at a position of need...

We were pretty good this year.
