Why we win big...

You are smoking crack BigDik but love your enthusiasm. I will pleasantly be surprised if we win. The Florida defense is going to give our young QB plenty to think about. Then again that's why the play the game but we are not beating the Gators by 25. LOL

Miami's D was ranked 4th in total D last year (amazing given the stinky offense and many extra opportunities)
UF's D was ranked 28th.

Turds gave up almost 850 yards more than us (4463 to 3626). That's basically two full games worth. Most important is yards per play. 5.12 (UF) to 4.3 (UM) That's a big difference. In terms of pressure, Miami averaged 3.08 sacks per game to UF's 2.85, but that doesn't tell the whole story about what to expect in 2019. I think most people would agree that Miami has even more pass rush talent this year than last, whereas UF lost their best pass rushing DEs.

Total offense there is a big difference but when you break down the numbers it tells a different story. Despite Miami's terrible playcalling (and defenders knowing the play) UF only barely edges out Miami in yards per rush 5.27 to 5.20. It's basically the same. UF had some NFL caliber OL last year. We did not. This year that OL experience is gone, except for the Center. Miami didn't lose its best offensive linemen, it moved them inside so the interior will be, in my opinion, much improved.

And in terms of passing- despite having two OL drafted by the NFL and an experienced QB , where did UF rank? #82 (!) 7.63 yards a game. Miami was awful (#112), but again, that is with a musical chairs OL, no QB, and no OC.

TL;DR

Miami's defense (at least pass rush wise) is better in 2019 (and we were among best in the country)
Miami now has a QB , moved most talented OL back to natural positions, and a stud OC
UF's defense (pass rush wise) is worse (and it wasn't even top 25 in 2018)
UF's offense which was terrible in passing (which we nearly matched in rush ypg) has same QB, lost 2 best OL, and same OC.

our I line is better this year if them tackles hold their on against our d line with Garvin Hill greg pat and Harvey I think they will do fine that's the difference this year everything is hard competition ones vs ones make you stronger and jarren is going to pull a jamesis sat with his accuracy and our weapons plus our line ran good against our number one defense

1. Our running game and speed (dee jay and cam) come on mane

2. Uf's offense is terrible

3. Um's 3 linebackers that played for four years together

4. Amari Carter/ Blades/Ivey

5. Diaz vs Mullen... smh

6. Two 5 star te's that can ball

7. Muddy badger, the Michael Jordan on defense, but i like carter

Um-38 Uf -13

Um will have more fans in Orlando.. bet that
You missed the biggest mismatch of the game. Our DL full of savages and 10 deep vs their OL that is barely feilding an average OL first team full of first time starters.

The OL is like the engine that moves the OF. If it breaks down that OF is going nowhere!

Manny has 12 top rated DLm ready to apply max pressure to get to their back ups which are subpar talent and a few walk on's. Like Manny said that matchup can't break even...Miami have to dominate that match up. If we do we smoke them.

Jeff Thomas is not looking back and waiting on the ball thrown by Rosier to get to him. Look at past film--it was clear Rosier was holding JT4 back. If Williams can release an accurate ball inside the first half of JT4s route, we're money. He'll take it to the house.

You could have worked in Hadley in all of that.

I predict when and if we have to punt for the first time, Hedley fakes the punt and steam rolls a gator for a first down!

You beat me to it! Headley should make a marked tangible impact from our terrible field position problems last year... our D was still very good Despite poor field position and will benefit from this almost guaranteed improved unit

We were supposed to win big against LSU last year too. And the narrative was eerily similar

If this game were being played in late October or November I’d rock out with you, but not in game 1. We have too many firsts in this game and the OL is young as ****
We were supposed to win big against LSU? said who?

We win big if their OL is as bad as advertised and we can rattle Franks into making really dumb mistakes. Sorta like VaTech and ND of '17.
If their OL holds up well and/or Mullen makes good adjustments we may be in for a long, tough game.
I think it is as simple as that.
