WHY WAS WALTON STILL IN THE GAME?

Coach refuses to get guys in the game. Less than 8 min, up 3 scores but going to risk the best player on your team with FSU lurking. Homer's capable & needs real reps. Should have gotten Rosier meaningful snaps last year. Something Schnellinberger & Johnson used to do. It's not NFL with 46 active.

Okay...Duke gets a quick score and two point conversion...then you have a 10 point game with 6 minutes or so facing an onside kick. Imagine the howling by the usual suspects if our starters had been removed. Also, because of Hurricane Irma the coaches have made it clear that conditioning is a big issue (Mack Brown strongly made this very point during the telecast). With FSU coming up, that will almost assuredly see the starters playing a lions share of the entire game, Richt most probably wanted to push the starters deeper into the 4th quarter with next week in mind.

I know you're captain save a ho, but Mark was hurt since second quarter. He wasn't even trying to go full speed on runs , he shouldn't of been in period . F the score. People in the game thread were wanting him pulled before the injury because it was so obvious.

Then ironically he hurts the ankle he's been limping on.

I'm Captain Save a Hoe? Hmmm...thank you?

Hey, I've been saying all along that you Cats have more knowledge about coaching and college football in the end of your pinkie fingers than Coach Richt has in his entire body. As a head coach Richt has only won 155 games, which I am wholly confident that your collegiate coaching record dwarfs those numbers. By the way, my fan coaching record currently stands at 3,782 wins and 0 losses. Hoping they issue you a headset for the remainder of the season so you can coach-up Richt. Out of curiosity...if you believe they should have pulled Walton is it a stretch for me to wonder if you would have pulled all of the first team starters on both sides of the ball or only those you knew would be injured, like you knew Walton would be injured.

Disgraceful.

**** right! Every first teamer should have been removed from the game at halftime to prevent injury. Taking it further, with FSU coming up, none of the first team offense, defense or special team members should have played tonight. Fire Diaz!!

You are quickly becoming the biggest clown on the board. The official CIS court jester if you will. I think you deserve a break as you have been the perfect buffoon over the last week. We don't want you to wear yourself out especially with this being FSU week. Take of your wig, have a seat, kick off your big floppy red shoes and relax. This bud's for you Mr. Official CIS Court Jester.

The name's Francis Sawyer, but everybody calls me Psycho.

If Earnest T Bass calls me Francis, I'll ban him from the board.

OOOOOOH Francis!

You just made the list, Earnest T.

Also, I don't like no one making comments on the CIS board that I haven’t approved. So just keep your comments to yourself. If I catch any of you guys saying stuff about me, I'll ban you.

And I don't like nobody touching me. Any of you homos touch me, and I'll ban you.

Sergeant Hulka’s right Francis…Lighten up!!!

There's no defending this. The guy was gimpy all game. We were up 3 scores. FSU is coming up. And homer is more than capable. I, like most fans, was yelling at the tv to get him out BEFORE he got hurt.

Don't know why this post is being downvoted. I felt the same way. He shouldn't have touched the field in the 4th qtr knowing how important he is and who we have next week.

Why the **** is anyone downvoting this??

He's clearly not 100% and it got worse as the game went on. If you say you weren't cringing every time he got tackled and holding your breath until he got up okay, then you're either lying or oblivious. And--shocker--he ends up on the ground screaming in pain.

Explain to me how tf that makes any sense.

And I'll say this, Walton at 75% or whatever he was isn't so much better than Homer at 100 that we just had to. Homer is more than capable of handling what we needed to win the second half.

You can't convince me that was s good idea.

Obviously Richt had no good reason to have Walton out there.

He only did it to make people on a message board angry.

Coaches got greedy. Driving and wanted to push that 24-6 lead to 31. Wasn't smart, but wasn't absolutely moronic with nine minutes left in game. Turnover and score would've made it 24-14 with conversion. Hope he's all right. Again, coaches just trying to put it away. Hindsight always 20/20.

Miami sits on 24-6 lead, finishes weakly: "WHY DON'T WE EVER GO FOR THE JUGULAR???"

Miami keeps starters in to put the game away: "WHY DID WE TAKE A RISK? GAME WAS OVER!!"

stop defending it.. this is the 2nd time in 3 games walton has still been in when the game was well in hand the first being vs bethune late in the third ( maybe 4th? )

especially knowing walton is banged up, no reason to not let homer get out there and do what he does

No reason? I'll give you one reason without even thinking about it: sooner or later we will need Mark Walton to have legs in the 4th quarter in a tight game.

game wasn't exactly over. too much time on the clock. homer should have got more carries, but, walton shouldn't have been pulled from the game that early. you guys are clueless.

and what franchise, said, after last week and this week, i figured both were career ending injuries. he's fine. an extra day of rest. no worried.

This is an excellent point. At some point a fully healthy homer is better than an injured walton. And I think we had clearly reached that point, walton was really hampered out there.

dude..

seriously?

I'll point out the obvious

THAT WASN'T THAT GAME

This. There was just a little over 7 minutes left, Walton was hobbling around on one ankle, we had an 18 point lead and Homer is a legitimately good running back. There was no good reason for Walton to still be in that game.

again

richt has either lost a step or there's just too much going on for him to keep up with

he needs a dedicated offensive coordinator, i'm not saying he can't keep calling plays but he needs another set of eyes

honestly it's just inexcusable

Some of you just invent things to and complain about. Whiny, blubbering, complainers...

After a great win during a week when many of you wanted to fire Diaz (real smart!), remove Richt as offensive coordinator on the heels of putting up 52 points (Oscar worthy dumb!) and putting Coach Kool on notice he would be the next to fired (insane) now your latest infantile tirade is Richt should have known that Walton would tweak his ankle.

It is clear that some of you only watch Canes football so you can deride someone or something to make yourselves feel better.

Walton was rightly in the game because there was over 8 minutes still on the clock (had Duke put up a quick score you same people would be be bellowing how stupid it was for Richt to remove Walton from the game) and Walton needed playing time as conditioning and prep work for FSU.

With 100% certainty, had Ahmmon Richards re-injured his hamstring you would have also blamed Richt. And if it rained you would have blamed Richt. And if you didn't like the sandwich you were eating during the game you would have blamed Rich. And if...

Inexcusable??? The week before the man put up 52 points (with a touchdown called back) and 31 points against a very good Duke defense at their home field...and you say he's lost a step or there's just too much going on for Richt. Seriously, I've read some stupid things on this blog by your type, but that observation is the blue ribbon winner.

Does not matter if Walton wanted to stay in the game our head coach makes 4 million a year what is he doing

Teaching his team to have a killer instinct. Remember just last week how we start to pull away and we let Toledo march down the field and score and keep the game interesting? We've been notorious for that for a long time. This team doesn't know how to finish you off when they have you by the throat. That's part of the stench of Golden that hasn't been fully removed from this team.

Homer had 3 ******* carries. That's the part of this that really bothers me.
