Why the University of Miami Has a Playoff Caliber Defensive Line

False, I know what my eyes tell me. He’s at the lightest 310, but I would say 315 with without a doubt. No one goes from 325 all of a sudden to 300 when he’s your nose tackle. Did he get cancer all of a sudden? Smh
Brother, the kid said himself TWO DAYS AGO that he played last season at 310-312 and has now slimmed to 300-305. I don't know what to tell you.

Ahmad himself said 2 days ago he's at 300-305 right now and was at 310-312 last year

What players say to the media and what is reality, you should know by now are two different things. He was 325 last year and he slim down a little bit to 315 to improve his first step. I’ll even give you an extra 5 pounds to 310 even though I don’t believe that. Point of the matter is this, you’ve been wrong about our defensive line from the get-go and I can point out multiple things you’ve been wrong about ever since you went on your BS agenda on the podcast a couple of months back. All five of our defensive tackles that will contribute this year are over 300 pounds, we have a healthy Bain and a Mesidor that is back to his normal lighter weight playing the position he was always supposed to play in defense end. All that is light years better than what we had going on the defensive line last year and those are the facts. But if you want to continue on with your BS agenda, by all means do it but I’m gonna continue to call you out on it because that’s what it is, pure BS!

Been some truly terrible takes on this board over the years

But this is pound for pound the worst post I’ve ever seen

Immediately is in reference to being drafted in the NFL Draft that directly follows that particular season.
It’s fair

but it is a indicator of what type of talent you have. NFL teams aren’t expecting (they hope) those late ones pan out, but I’m sure they aren’t expecting it

We need to start getting DL drafted in the 1st two RD's. If Bain and Mesi get drafted by the 4th RD, that is almost half of what we have produced in 17 years. Think about that.
Pete has the updated weight #'s. Blay came in at 288 and is around 300. Moten has lost weight like Bain and Mesi. I thought Mesi was 260 and Bain 265, Hightower is 230 and Russell 298. I don't know for certain any of them and wouldn't get bothered by it. These big boys can fluctuate 5 lbs in a day or so.

Texas has had some serious DTs the last two seasons. As does Georgia usually. Michigan as well. I think that’s where we’re lacking in comparison to the top teams. Our ends should be very good

So what are you saying? Are you saying that’s if a player is drafted in the fourth round isn’t talented?

The point of this thread is to show the level of NFL talent that makes up a playoff caliber defensive line and how Miami compares to that. This has nothing to do with being superior in fact what it shows is no one have ever had more than 1 defensive lineman drafted in the 1st round the same season they were in the playoffs. Michigan could have this season with their two DT’s but Michigan did not make the playoffs in 2024.

So all this to say regardless of where they are projected to be drafted, the fact that Miami has 3 defensive lineman projected to be drafted in the 2026 draft puts Miami in the same class as Alabama 2023, Georgia 2024, and Oregon 2024. Ohio State 2024 teams leads everyone with 4 defensive lineman drafted in 2025.

We've had DL drafted early recently in Rousseau,Phillips and Roche.

He's talented but everyone is talented in the league and they cream rise and the rest get replaced eventually.

Also if Scott has a demon season that changes everything we said about the DL, he is that important. If he plays like a 4 star we cooked.

It is huh, so you don’t believe that all of our defensive tackles are over 300 pounds? Because I can tell you without a doubt that they are, so maybe it’s your dumbass takes that need to get checked at the door. Just an idea sport!
