Mopes go 135-1 every year in FBS.Unfortunately, us Mopes have been somewhat right for the past 20 years

This. Because 500+ yards of offense over 11 possessions and only 4 TDs tells me something still isn’t right.I mean OR despite a big win against a bad team, people on a message board are discussing things they think could be beneficial to their team.
Are you sure about that? They do more than just look at the score. 575-150 yardage differential and a team that didnt cross the 50 until scrub time in the fourth after 1000 yards and 50 plus points in the previous two weeks?
+1000000000I implore you "happy" folk to be more genuine with your statements. This thread is about offensive tempo, yet you make post that includes two defensive scores.
We scored 31 offensive points vs cuse and 34 vs NC State. Thats 65 offensive points.
Which is 32.5 offensive ppg versus two of the worst defenses in college football.
You think the committe who has publicly questioned out offense is impressed enough by 32.5 oppg against cuse and NC state to bump us into the playoffs over their sec and ND darlings?
You guys just dont get that winning alone is not enough. The offense needs to make a statement to the committee and the world so strong that they cant leave us out.
32.5 Oppg against terrible defenses wont do it, imo. Needed to be around 42.5 at least.
Well we did have another g dam penalty calling back a tdThis. Because 500+ yards of offense over 11 possessions and only 4 TDs tells me something still isn’t right.
Procedure penalty, direct cost of inexplicably insisting on whittling the play clock down to zero.Well we did have another g dam penalty calling back a td
Exactly. We are fighting for our playoff lives, and some of our fans think we should be happy just winning. Yes, 41-7 was a convincing win, but it needed to be more at this point. If we were still undefeated, 41-7 would be excellent. Am I happy that we dominated? Absolutely. But I still want to make the playoffs, and leaving points on the board isn't going to cut it.+1000000000
We need to pile on points and make statement weekly to get their attention
Beat the brakes of VT w 55+
Then go drop another 45 on pitt
And don’t give up more than 7 and we can make our case v ND for at large
**** around
We get left out
I’m told we should have less plays so there’s less penalties and turnovers.Well we did have another g dam penalty calling back a td

I’m not sure any of that matters. The biggest difference between us and Utah/BYU is that they have 1 loss. The SEC and ND start the season with a 1 game lead over everyone else. So as we learned last year, we need 1 loss (or 0), an ACC championship, or a lot of luck. We’re not going to jump SEC teams with equal losses, ND with equal (but better timed) losses, or other teams with fewer losses.Exactly. Examples are Utah and BYU. They are also fighting for their playoff lives and played similar competition last night. They also dominated their opponent just like we did, but Utah and BYU didn't let up in the 4th qtr. Utah scored 20 in the 4th and BYU scored 14. Style points matter right now.
I mean if that impressed you against one of the worst defenses in all of P4 football, more power to you. If we did that against Ohio State or a team like that, I could see your point….. but it was NCST and we only scored 34 against that trash.This. Because 500+ yards of offense over 11 possessions and only 4 TDs tells me something still isn’t right.
Nah dude just keep your mouth shut and be happy with the win. Don’t you know we put up 34 offensive points against NCST? No criticism or critique allowed brah.Exactly. I think you are misreading what I’m putting out there. I’ve been down voted by some because i said once you remove the pick 6 we scored 34, and only 4 TDs in 11 possessions against one of the worst defenses in CFB. My argument is we need more possessions.I mean if that impressed you against one of the worst defenses in all of P4 football, more power to you. Got it, thought you were saying that sarcastically lol.I think you are misreading what I’m putting out there. Utah has 2 losses.I’m not sure any of that matters. The biggest difference between us and Utah/BYU is that they have 1 loss. The SEC and ND start the season with a 1 game lead over everyone else. Style points won’t get us anything, especially with Utah’s AD on the committee. We were plenty dominant against NC State. Just need to keep winning and get lucky.
Fair points and my mistake on Utah. I just feel like we need multiple losses (maybe up to 4) in the 7 or so spots ahead of us or an ACC championship to get in. I don’t think we’re going to leap teams on style points alone if everyone keeps winning. But if we get those losses ahead of us, I think if we keep winning that’s enough.Utah has 2 losses.
Teams like Ohio State, Bama, Oregon, or basically any SEC team can win ugly and not be punished. We don’t have that luxury. Utah and BYU are in the same boat. There is a reason why Indiana kept their foot in the gas pedal all season. If they were just barely winning and winning ugly, they would be somewhere around #7 or #8 right now. One loss and they would be given the Georgia Tech treatment. But Indiana put themselves in a position where one loss wont affect them like it does other teams that are just barely winning.
I feel style points matter right now. Maybe they don’t. Who knows for sure.
Regarding tempo, it seems one of the issues slowing us down is the constant personnel swapping. Sure, huddling up and getting everyone on the same page slows us down, but we are swapping personnel packages after every play which means the defense gets to swap to match. All of that slows us down.@CanesSkins26 you can face palm or watch the game. In fact, I’ll give you a quick example. On our first drive after the first down to Pringle we go outside zone on first down for five yards. Beck immediately signals formation and they go no huddle.
