Who's a past player you wanted/thought would be great?

After watching his highlight video, I thought Jermaine McKenzie would be fun to watch.

Seantrell Henderson and all of the hype that he came with was very disappointing.

As far as Qb, Ryan Collins, Frank Costa, Kenny Kelly, Kirby Freeman, Mark Guillon, Kyle Wright, Robert Marve and Jacory Harris never seemed to live up to the hype.

WRs Jammi German, Lance Legget and LaRon Byrd were never consistent enough and regressed every year.

TE Chase Ford was a huge disappointment.

Although he had a decent career, I thought Lamar Miller was supposed to be lights out amazing. His hype was almost as big as Frank Gore's. Shawnbree McNeal was also suppose to be decent and he never impressed me. Craig Cooper had his moments but this was another guy that never seemed to achieve elite RB level at UM. I do, however, respect what Cooper contributed at Miami.

danyell ferguson. i know he had some injuries. but, thought he'd be a stud.
jammi german could have had a better career.

Ferguson still ran for 2200 yards in his career and had over 1,000 yards his junior year, and would have had 1,000 his senior year but got hurt after 5 games.

Going back a ways, I always thought Chris T. Jones was gonna blow up and be a monster. He was a legit 6-5 guy and was bow-legged. He had the frame of a taller guy. He could run, he was big and he could catch. He had 1 decent year but had a crater like disappearance after that.

Disagree. He was the leading receiver in 93 and 94. He had 45 for 700 with 6 TD in '93 and 39 for 664 with 4 TD in '94. His first 2 years he was behind Thomas and Copeland and Williams and Spencer. Look up Lamar Thomas and Horace Copeland's stats in 91 and 92. They weren't much better if at all. The way our offense was run under Erickson back then, we never really had one receiver put up amazing stats. We spread the ball around because we were usually 3 or 4 wide with 1 back. Also, don't forget his QB was Costa/Collins in '93 and Costa in '94. I remember him being very dominant at times in 1994, and being as much of a "beast" of WR with his size and speed as we had until Andre Johnson came around.

I thought jacory was going to lead us back to the promise land... he couldn't take the heat from fans and that broke him...

Kyle Wright. Highly recruited kid coming in and he fell apart after not focusing on football.

Jacory Harris and Beau Sandland if he doesn't put it together this season. Sandland had me expecting Shockey reincarnated. Jacory is one of my favorite Canes period. Anthony Reddick and Ray-Ray Armstrong also come to mind.

Rhyan Anderson,Carl Walker,Carlos Armor and Andrew Johnson.3 were in the same class and part of why Coker ended up getting fired.

I remember reading a story a looooooong time ago about omar rolle.....it was a couple of year after his "career" ended at Miami. It was about how him and samari was one of the top players from miami in that class and they both would be killing it for both of their teams in the near future....well they were right about Samari, but omar????? I doubt he had a significant reception in his career at miami. Yatil green and magic benton made dude look like a div 2 player. I just thought it was funny after i read that article years after he was done at miami about how he would be one of the top players in country in college

GREG THREAT... Led our team in tackles his junior year then Coker benched him his senior year for who was it.. Randy Phillips? Or Anthony Reddick? Smh.

For Kenny Phillips. That was not a bad benching. Phillips was phenomenal.

Threat was really good. But Phillips was great.

I thought Marcus Robinson would be a terror here.

gotta put up for Gavin Hardin as well. The emotional sideline scene and never being able to continue had to be brutal on him.

Went and checked.. Anthony Reddick started the season against Fswho sustained a knee injury then Kenny Phillips came in.. Whatever it was they weren't trying to let arguably one of our best defensive players on the field that year.
