Who's a past player you wanted/thought would be great?

Kyle Wright. We were what Alabama is now at the time and we basically just lost at all. I don't put the blame on him, but he was a significant part of it.
Jason Geathers. Coming out he was supposed to be the RB equivalent of what Andre Johnson was at WR. We were fortunate to get a guy named Portis, though.
Tory Mitchell. I got to talk to Phillip Buchanon one time and he said that during Mitchell's very short time there, he was a bona fide freakazoid.
Javonny Ward. This guy is going to be a killer, guys. Rumor is he might qualify this year. He and Willie Roberts might get here for summer II!
James Bryant. Remember his tearful signing day speech? I feel like he had the potential to be great and this wasn't the best situation for him.
Demitri Stewart. I think he turns 19 this year, he should be ready in 2016.

Willie Williams, Arthur Brown, Charlie Jones, Ryan Moore, Lance Leggett, Marcus Forston, Jacory Harris, Aldarius Johnson are all good nominations and so obvious they don't need special mention. All had the looks of being a LOCK to be stars, but somehow it didn't happen.

Dear Lord, do we ever need Mike Wyche to be great. It's totally unfair to him that the program needs him to be a savior, but here we are.
Olsen/Kaaya/Rozier - we need one of them to be the guy, desperately.

Im sure you can make a laundry list of players that fit this topic.

Marcus Fortson- it just never clicked

Tyrone Moss- There was so much hype behind him because he was breaking records in high school. Don't really know what happened.

Aldarius Johnson- just wasnt productive after his fresh. yr.

Robert Marve- Played against him while he was at Plant. He was the main piece in Plant's rise to a powerhouse. He didn't have a better arm then Aaron Murray but was a bonifide playmaker. I never seen anyone sense pressure from their blindside, spin back out around the pressure, then throw a strike on the run as better as he could on the high school level. I hated him up until he committed to Mia, because Plant is one of our biggest rivals. I really believe he could have been at least decent if not for Shannon pulling that duel QB crap. Plus, Marve head wasn't on all the way.

Sadly, too many to mention. Over the last 30 years, we went from, "Now where the heck did that guy come from?" to "What the heck ever happened to ...........?" Trying to fill in that blank is too painful for me.

Kyle Wright. I saw him play a handful of times in high school. I thought he would be a dominant QB here. Im still not sure why it didnt happen. Lots of little reasons rather than one issue IMO.

Happily and scarily - Brad Kaaya is the closest thing Ive seen at the high school level to Kyle Wright.

25 OC's...

Geathers development was hindered by constant position changes. I'm not sure I'd put him on this list. Beside that, strong post!

Latwan Anderson has to be mine. 5 star ATH Army All American. 4.4 speed. 15th best recruit of the '10 recruiting class and we got absolutely nothing out of him.
