Who would you want to replace No D next year?

Dave Aranda from Wisconsin. He runs an attacking 3-4 defense that is based on bringing 4 man pressure on every down from all over the field. He has had a top 15 defense for the last 5 years at three different schools. Currently he has the nations 8th best defense at Wisconsin, using big old farm boys, in a defense he designed to be based on speed and movement not size, so imagine what he would do at miami.

He is in his last year of his contract at Wisconsin and they had to break the bank to pay him $480k, so if UM offers $550k-$600k he is ours.

The word as always been that Golden is well thought of and well connected in the coaching field. If/when the time comes we will see just how true this proves to be.

Golden will become a specialist HC in coaching teams that are under the NCAA cloud. Winning is not sunshine, removing the cloud is, page 238 in the 300 page plan.

I couldn't agree more, I would love this hire. If he is able to successfully coordinate defenses at Utah St. and Wisconsin what could he do with our athletes. I understand that a lot of people on this board and Miami fans in general have soured on the 3-4 scheme based on the results that we have seen. But if that scheme is ran creatively and aggressively it can cause a lot of problems for opposing offenses, especially with the type of athletes that we have at our disposal in south Florida.

Al probably hasn't learned his lesson. He'll probably hire another friend of his who will have the same passive mentality.

The problem is Golden doesn't know anything other then the Defensive scheme he runs.. To ask him to deviate from the scheme he's running is like asking a kindergarten student to do calculus

If Golden insists on continuing to run a 3-4 defense, he needs to bite the bullet and switch to the Phillips 3-4 one gap defense, which suits our roster and recruit type better than that read and react patty cake two gap cluster**** Doritos runs.

I have had my eye on this guy for some time now.

He is a fiery young guy, and he recruits the Central Florida area for Wisconsin.

He would have a top 10 defense here.

Based off his coaching history, he seems like a coach who does more with less.

DO WANT.

Seriously, what are the chances of hiring him away from Wisconsin? In case you haven't noticed, our ADs leave for Texas Tech and Nebraska. Our SIDs leave for Arkansas and other precincts. We hire head coaches on the cheap off our staff. When we really splurge, we raid Temple. Get the picture?

Why would any half-decent DC want to come coach on a lame-duck staff?

Maybe we could convince a guy like FIU's Josh Conklin to take a shot (yes, I had to look that up).
