Perry. He has a year in the system now. Weldon battles Rosier for back up. Shirreffs transfers. Williams redshirts.

Perry?

I mean seriously, does anyone really think that Rosier, much less the other scrubs or a true freshman is going to win the job?

I think Williams has a much better shot at starting than Perry had this past year. It's going to come down to which QB gets it right between their ears first, because they are both seriously talented. Williams has plenty of time to catch up.

The competition is over period and scud missile Rosier lost badly. Ah Good Times Ahead !

Some are trolling hard
zero chance anyone thinks Rosier will be the starter and Absolutely NO way anyone wants him too be

Lol. Sure.

Williams is talented no doubt but slim chance he is beating out the other talented dude who was attached to Rick’s hip all year.

This is just as dumb as the people who thought Perry was gonna start this past year.

Shirreffs is one of the worst QBs to take a snap here in a very long time.

Hes worse then Byrne or Matt Perrilli.

I'm not trying to pile on the kid but he looked worse than any backup I can remember in my lifetime that I've seen take a live game snap-- and I'm not forgetting about Spencer Whipple.

I think Perry will win the job, but I hope he can avoid getting injured. I was surprised how skinny he still looked at the end of the season. I'm beginning to think he might be the kinda kid that can't put on weight like jacory. And if the offense calls for a QB run I sure hope he can take a hit like Rosier. That was the only thing that I really liked about Rosier.

If not Perry then I hope it's Williams.

I think Rosier wins the job at the start of the season but with Perry playing. On the road to open the season against LSU tips it to Rosier IMO. I do think Perry wins the job outright at some point. Williams probably RS but just my view of it. Sheriffs probably transfers and indifferent towards Weldon...

No! It's absolutely ludicrous to think the winningest Miami QB in 15 years, the only one who led a team to a Coastal Title or 7 conference wins, who after a season of on field experience, and a year to work on getting better, even has a remote shot against the entire field of unknowns.

he was 98th in Completion percentage, he is terrible, we won despite him.
Worst schedule in 15 years, best team and defense in 15 years.

My prediction is:
1) Rosier
2) Sheriffs
3) Williams
4) Perry
5) Welden

Based on some of the threads I just read I'm a little confused... If the Defense was the weakest unit on the team & the reason we lost 3 in a row, why do so many want a new QB?

If the Defense is the biggest issue on the team like I keep seeing, then doesn't that mean we don't actually need another QB? I mean the offense carried the team like yall said, so what's all this new QB talk about?

Same goes with the recent suggestions for Coaches I keep seeing, if what yall was saying about how bad the Defense was then why does everybody want us to add offensive coaches? Shouldn't it be the other way?

I think that means many know deep down this Offense isn't nowhere near as good as it supposed to be, but because it's Richt's side of the ball people just don't wanna criticize him, which I get.

It's beyond obvious we need a new QB if we ever plan on winning the ACC, Rosier is not the answer Idc how much he "improves" this offseason he's not leading us to #6 .

We're heading into year 3 of Richt's Offense, why would he still want to hamstring himself with another year of Foley's QB's

Richt is the OC & de facto QB coach, his job is to develop the QB's & put them in the best position possible to execute his Offense. If he stuck with Rosier for the 2018 season that would mean he missed on 3 evals (Perry/Weldon/Williams) & isn't actually confident in his system. Which we all know he is, so it would make literally no sense whatsoever to not give Perry or Williams the shot.

There's no more young QB excuse, TF's & Red Frosh lead teams to conference & national championships all the time in today's era of college football, every aspect of our team needs improvement, but if Richt is going to stay the OC the Offense/QB is his responsibility, time to get it done & I believe he will.

No one said the defense was the weakest unit on the field. The defense being bad on 3rd down and Rosier being terrible in general are mutually exclusive and valid observations.

Everyone knows the Defense was bad on 3rd down, but from the threads I've seen it seems like people were going beyond that & saying the Defense was just bad period.

And I don't believe they're mutually exclusive, if the Defense was as bad as some have said then we would've lost a lot more games than we did. Bad Defense + terrible QB= 10 wins & Coastal title? Doesn't add up to me. Probably means one wasn't as bad as its portrayed.

I'm just saying I saw multiple threads where people went in depth on how bad the Defense was, every stat posted to show how bad they were, yet not a single thread posting the Offensive stats this season.

The Defense definitely struggled, they're not perfect or beyond criticism in any way, but they were at least top 5 in different categories & not just aimless categories, TFL's, Sacks & Turnovers matter big time, I would love to see an offensive stat that we were even in the top 25 in.

Point being, this offseason we have a chance to go from being good to great, all 3 phases of the game need to be improved & that's been discussed, I just find it interesting that on the Defensive side of the ball no one is calling for a new coach, but yet many say they were the big problem in our losses. While at the same time everyone wants drastic change on Offense, which leads me to believe that people know the Offense was actually worse & needs the most improvement.
