Who will be our second-leading rusher?

Here’s to hoping Pringle, Lyle, Fletch and Marty all go for 400 in regular season. Then let Fletch eat again healthy in yoffs. That’s the way

For yardage - Pringle. But Marty gets some big TDs when we need them.
That's what I'm thinking. Pringle will probably have 2nd most rushing yards. I think he will have more carries than either Brown or Lyle, so it just makes sense he will have more rushing yards

I will say this about Brown. Besides Fletcher, Brown is the only other back that can consistently turn those 0-1 yard stuffs into 4-5 yard gains.

Pringle cause he is good to use in ACC play and will also break chunk yards/plays. I'm not sure where Lyle fits in tbh, unless an injury occured obviously. I think there could be an odd man out between Lyle/Brown. Love Brown and what he does but Lyle is more talented.

Marty is like having two Fletchers. Bruising, dependable extra effort backs. However, I’m curious if having a much more dynamic wr corps this year almost necessitates us going with a more spread out wide open approach on Offense. If that’s the case, Pringle would seem to be the better, more natural fit and may result in his role increasing dramatically as the season progresses

Marty runs into a stacked box better than anyone. He is the best short yardage guy. Also, an Ace out of the backfield on 3rd down.

Winning football player. Can see him carving out a support role RB. special teams at next level.

This thread reminded me.

When we played Indiana - they moved very quickly to Fitsgerald. Very quickly.

Because he seemed to mostly hit a trajectory hard - and fast.

It seemed to me in past games - that Pringle had this half-step hesitation - just long enough to pick a hole that opened up, and then had this ability to zig-zag through arm tackles.

Which is why I kept expecting to see Pringle and take advantage of that particular defense.

Do we see some defenses that are more vulnerable to particular running backs we have - or do they just plan one and stick with it - even when it becomes obvious that another style of runs might work better?

I love football, and I loved the Canes before Schnellenberger became coach - but I am nowhere near the level of most of you on how this **** works.

I think with Mensah at QB the offense will not have to rely so much on Fletcher to pound out a first down and also will not have to rely on his pass pro. Should be more carries for Lyle and Pringle. Depends on if Lyle is healthy but he was the starter first game on the national stage against notre dame. Don't sleep on Lyle.
