Nicknames are given by others based upon the respect that person earns. If you're a loser, you get a loser nickname.

He was making great passes the last 6 games of 2021 and the first few games of 2023 thus he earned Tyler Van Dimes.

Now, he's throwing passes to defenders at a record clip and can't even throw a 3 yard screen pass, therefore Tyler Van Dump is a great nickname.
I stand corrected. Tyler does not deserve a cool nickname.

Simple question who’s answer I’d like to see quantified among the fanbase. Reply with your why.

Do what Urban Meyer did a few years back. Have Williams as the primary QB (like Chris Leak) but put in Brown in short yardage (like Tebow). Get the best out of what both do well, which combined is > 1 TVD.

Bad news for us is that would require creativity and innovation. If Dawson didn't even have the brains to try the wildcat in the NC St game (when the passing game was out of whack but the run game was working), he's not going to go to have the intelligence to figure out how to use two QBs.

Some of you actually voted for TVD to start?

IF they make a change (I dont think they will) then it is Emory to Start and hopefully they will play Brown a decent amount. Brown got thrown in as TF and clearly he was more comfortable running. Let him to his thing for 10-14 snaps a game, mostly runs and mix in a few passes to keep them honest and let Emory handle the other 75% of the game

You start Emory, but you bring in Brown on certain red zone packages and 2nd/3rd and mid. Keep their D off balance. One of them gets into a rhythm and you stay with that QB. If Emory was good enough to beat a Top 5 Clemson D, he's good enough to give us a shot here.

Can we as a community end TVD? Tyler does not deserve a nickname.

No. I'm not going to make fun of a college kid for having a mental meltdown or give him a mean nickname.

I remember in college going through a real bad breakup and it was like the end of the world at the time. School, food, work- my mind was stuck in a negative feedback loop because I didn't have enough life experience to know that I'd get over it.

For whatever reason it look like TVD went into a mental downward spiral. It's a coach's job to either get him out of the funk or to do what is in the best interest of the team and sit him. The one thing a coach CANT do is keeping putting a mentally broken QB out on the field because every mistake the QB makes is only going to make things worse for him.

Hypothetically let's say that TVD fractured his clavicle 3 weeks ago, but Cristobal kept putting him on the field because TVD told Cristobal he felt good enough to play. We knew that every time he got hit it would make the injury worse. Who bears responsibility? I say its 99% on the coach because players will always put on a brave face and say they can play. A mental problem isn't any different than a physical problem, except that it's not visible.

Well ok but that has 0 to do with what I posted. 🤣🤣 Tyler is not a mean nickname. It's actually his first name.

The season is done. The ACC title game is out the window once again. Start your young guy and staple the golfer to the bench and tell him to pack his clubs after the season ends.

Except there are 85 kids who have a quarter of their season left to play and want to play well, want to win, want to improve, want to get better, etc.

They're not miserable message board rats who pick their noses and fill their diapers on their couches.

Try to play well, win games, and improve both yourself and the trajectory of your program.

Then start a qb who at least gives a **** and is a guy people want to play with. The only guy who wants to play with Van Dyke is Restrepo.
