Who do you want to be OC next season?

I think Dawson will likely move on to a better job because successful coordinators typically don’t stay at one place too long. Who do you want to replace him? What new facets would you like to see implemented in offense next season?

I have a feeling that if Dawson moved on, Mario will circle back on Dorsey. He’s the passing game coordinator for the Cowboys right now.

Find it hard to believe he’s going to get another OC job in the pros, so he might be receptive to running the show down here.

The real question is, do we want him? There is a reason he’s been fired twice. One time….with Josh Allen as his starting QB. That scares me.

Wait a minute, we just spent almost two days trashing the guy & now he’s moving onto a better job.
FYI, Mike Shula will be available if we’re interested.

Does the OC get to dictate run game and formations?
That’s the key, if not then I don’t know who would want to come here if they don’t have full autonomy of the offense. Doubt Dawson is going anywhere though.

Honestly, we ought to be able to go after some big fish after Dawson’s run here.

I know he’s got Pavia to thank for a lot of his success, but I wouldn’t be angry if we kicked the tires on Tim Beck after watching Vandy this year.

Did we run this run scheme in 2023? I know we did last year and it was fine since cam kept everyone honest and generally scared to death with our weapons. But this year we don’t have that and these condensed runs are just not hitting.

Doesn’t matter if Mirabal going to call the run plays. No quality OC will sign up for that.
The thread should end here but the mouth-breathers will mentally ********** about some unrealistic candidate coming here, only to hire someone who continues to run a 1970’s big 10 scheme

Finding a big fish that’s willing to work under Mario won’t be easy. I’m not absolving Dawson but he’s working within Mario’s framework. That’s not conspiracy.

I know the hate for Dawson is high right now but I’m very much in a “careful what you wish for” mode.

Not you personally just saying in general I’m very wary of our next OC already.

I should caveat what I said- I don’t know for a fact how accurate it is that Mirabal calls the run plays. That’s what I have seen reported here, and as you know the internet never lies.

I don’t understand how the logistics of that would even work. Does Mirabal buzz in and say “I want to run the ball now” and override Dawson? It doesn’t make much sense to me how it could be done.
