Who do you think is the best QB in the country?

He’s an NFL QB and a good passer but I wouldn’t say any of his traits are above-average from NFL standpoint. Heard he is under 6’1 and not that heavy.

1. Burreaux-Daniels legacy

2. Dad's an NFL OC

3. SEC pedigree

I stood next to Garrett last year at the Manning camp along with Kyle Mcord and Quinn Ewers. I was right behind them getting lunch and none of them are big. I was shocked - Mccord was the biggest, Quinn second and Garrett the third. Very lean - not overally muscular. That can change but I stand next to some other guys like Justyn Martin the starting QB at Maryland or Mark Gronowski those guys are BIG dudes with muscle and size. Even Aiden Chiles is bigger and he's pretty lean.

Leave Beck out for purposes of the discussion.

I’ve been watching cutups of all the QBs to get ready for the season, and LaNorris Sellers stands out from a talent standpoint over guys like Klubnick (reminds me of Colt McCoy), Allar, Nussmeier, and Leavitt. I like how Sellers carries himself, his strength is insane, and he is an easy thrower.

Who do you have at #1?

Sellers may have an easy throwing motion…But he can't hit the broad side of a barn.

Noticeably missing from this thread:

CJ Carr
Arch Manning

Those two plus Austin Simmons who was mentioned can easily make it into the discussion, but there really isn’t any body of work yet for them.

Mensah at Duke has the tools as well to be very good and even I forgot about him when I did my top 10 list.

What this thread proves is that college football is wide open this year. Unlike prior years, where there were fantastic, returning quarterbacks, there isn’t anyone that appears lethal.
Agreed. It’s the same in a lot of the media too though (if you don’t just read ESPN). I’ve been thinking the big QB awards are going to end up going to someone that no one is even talking about yet.

I don’t know truthfully. But the top for me no order would be Nuss, Klubnik, Sellers, Robertson, Leavitt, Allar and Lagway.

Sam Leavitt of course. 🤔

Nussmeier, with Sellers having the most potential. Everyone else hasn't shown enough yet.

Overall, it'd be pretty bad if your NFL needs a young franchise QB. Cause it's a travesty out there.

I'm seeing alot of hype for Austin Simmons.... I mean, I know he's smart. He graduated HS at like 16 or something right? I just haven't seen enough for me to hop on that train. He has a lot to prove with a full Sec schedule ahead of him.

Now... I'm also seeing alot of hate(or not enough hype) for Klubnik. He's definitely top 3 coming into the season for me. One thing I like is he doesn't turn the ball over much. Had zero games last yr of throwing more than one int. The year before that, he had ONE game of throwing more than one int.

With Simmons it's an arm talent projection.

He's got an elite Baseball arm & that usually translates very well on the next levels.

Strong arm QB's tend to progress quicker than a noodle arm Checkdown artists.

He's also a gifted athlete.

Klubnik has really improved. He was a liability at times in 2023, and Clemson was not happy with him because his limited time his freshman year wasn't great (understandably), but it didn't look like he was much better in 2023 in his first year starting the whole season.

But 2024 was a whole lot better, his rating went from 126 to 148, his YPA went from 6.3 to 7.5 on the same completion percentage, so clearly he trusted to push the ball down-field more, he ran a lot more last year than he did in 2023, his QBR went from 55 to 78.7, which was 15th in the country.

He's being hyped up this year exactly where he should be, as one of the best returning QBs in the country.
