Should be some really good opinions on this. Looking forward to reading the conversations on this. For me being a 30 year fan it’s incredible to be right where we are now. Top shelf quarterback and an offense that is among the best in CFB. I think we all know the defensive liabilities at this point. It’s ok everyone we are not perfect. This saw season reminds me more of the years leading up to 2001. Mario is building us into a perennial playoff team and I am confident we’ll be in those conversations as long as he is our coach. His record reflects strength of recruiting and that is invaluable. Time management has improved this season as well so he is willing to look in the mirror and make changes not only to the team but also himself. Huge point for success for CEO’s is the ability to identify talent and admit when they make mistakes and he is doing both.

Simply for me:
I think we’re a top 15 team this year!
Defense is iffy but can make the adjustments as we have seen in the second half of games. That tells me it’s fixable during the week and not at half time.
Elite offense and that makes us dangerous. Cam will more than likely be in NYC so again enjoy watching his game changing ability.

Enjoy the ride Canes Fans. We have been thirsty for this since 03,04 when we were relevant and still feared. That time we’ll it’s here again. Don’t get caught up in the weakness because every team has weaknesses as we just witnessed. We’ll get better as the years go by trust Mario.

Elite offense. Amazing QB. Talented in some areas on D and poor in others. We struggle to set the edge against the run. Eye discipline and tackling needs help. If they can improve those areas, we can hang with anyone. If not, we will lose at some point.

This team is likeable and plays with a ton of heart and effort. That alone makes me proud.

Championship-caliber balanced offense that can take what the defense gives them.

Defense that maybe needs to realize they aren't the main character and can get away with playing bend-but-don't-break and forcing FGs and relying on the front 4 to get pressure while the back 7 plays boring bland coverage that can't be easily exploited by tricks and misdirection and plays designed to take advantage of aggressive pursuit.

I agree with this completely. Guidry while i love the aggressiveness of this D should tone down the Zero blitzes & having our safeties in man coverage against anyone. I actually dont believe the weakness is the entire secondary, our CBs are more than serviceable. They've made plays on the ball in the air and have done ok tackling on the boundaries. Even the long catch to the TE wasn't all on #19 Hill.

It's the Safeties that are the problem. I was so ****ed when both Harris & Powell were within 5yds of the LOS on Ott's long 4th Down catch &run. I saw it coming, i literally said out loud "Why are both safeties in the box, Watch out for play action"

Instead of so much Man2Man, bend don't break w/ Zone blitz might better suit our our personnel

We could be a championship team. Cam Ward's ability to lead and raise the level of play with this team is crazy. They never stop believing and it starts with him.

Every team in the country has warts, you see it year in and year out. This team at full strength can play with anybody. The secondary was my concern before the season though, and it remains so…my hope is with a fully healthy Bain, and Barrow continuing to emerge, that our DL depth can mask a little bit of that. We shall see how it plays out.

We’re pretty good… look at how other teams are playing, how they are structured it wouldn’t surprise me if we’re bounced in the first round or make it to the Championship. A lot of different factors in play.

We have a favorable schedule to go undefeated in the regular season. Clemson is beatable for sure. There are teams who are bad matchups for us but as this season has shown everyone is beatable and we don’t have any quit in us.

I see what you did there. 100% agree

We are a team still trying to figure out who we are but winning some close games in the process.
We are a very dangerous team that knows that we can win in different ways and with different players who can score.
We are a team no team wants to face in a playoff because we have a QB who has seen everything and will not be phased.

I think the better question is, "Who are we going to be?".

The way the defense has been playing the last two games, Miami could lose 2-3 games left on the schedule. The way the offense has been playing, sleeping through quarters and making dumb mistakes, it could cost Miami a game down the line. Through the bye week they need to fix a ton on defense and they need to clean up a lot of the mistakes on offense.

If you you told me they'll address those things, maybe not completely remove them but mitigate the issues to a large extent, then I think this team can be a top 5 team. Not national championship caliber but definitely capable of winning a first round game in the playoff and putting up a fight in round 2.

If those things aren't addressed and continue then we're a 9-10 win team that will either overachieve like FSU last year or have a bad second half of the season and water will reach its level at 9 or 10 wins. I really don't want this team to be last years FSU because the VT and Cal game were very much how that team played. Getting bailed out by a really good QB.

If I was Guidry I would spend the next two weeks on assignment football. Repetition after repetition of making sure guys stay where they're supposed to. You can kill two birds with one stone because that's going to be Louisville's game plan.

Well said. I agree. We also have good special teams.

We are who most of us thought we would be

Cam is the best QB we’ve had in my fandom. WR group is as deep and dangerous as anyone in the country

DT depth and secondary were always gonna be an issue

Other than cleaning up the penalties I don’t think there’s any reason to expect anything different moving forward

It’s gonna be a wild ride but we can play with anyone
