We absolutely do not need fsu to win this game to make the CFP, stop using that as an argument.

FSU, and it isn't close, and if you disagree you are a half wit moran.

We don't want the hardest game on our schedule to have a lose in week 1 against arguably a top team every year. SOS helps with them winning. Think long term not short

LOL at this. If we beat FSU and everyone else we're in regardless of how many losses FSU has. If we beat an FSU team that goes undefeated but lose to Pitt and GT we're out. No one voting on playoff stuff will penalize UM for beating FSU.

If you guys want to justify to yourselves rooting for FSU go ahead. But it's nonsense. ACC Champ will be in the playoff unless they have 2 losses regardless of the records of the teams that they beat along the way. ACC has mega juice.

So you're saying that if we went undefeated we'd be in the playoff? When's the last time we went undefeated? Or the last time we won more than 9 games?

Playing the high odds that strength of schedule WILL matter in our final CFP ranking, I'd rather FSU win.

As a Dolphins/Hurricanes fans, I'm surprised there isn't more hate for Saban around here. I can't stand to see him win.

You're big on making up positions for other posters so that you can argue.

My position is beating FSU and winning the ACC with one loss puts UM in the playoffs regardless of what FSU does against Alabaga. The ACC is riding a big wave of pundits calling it the best or second best conference in football. They're not keeping a 1 loss UM team out of the playoffs because we beat an FSU team that lost to perennial playoff team Alabaga.

If we lose 2 or more games the likelihood of making the playoffs drops precipitously. Going off memory, but I don't remember any 2 loss teams in the playoffs. I'm probably forgetting one or two, but 2 losses is almost impossible to overcome. One loss and an ACC title gets UM in. No question.

If you believe Miami has an outside shot at being in the playoff conversation, you better hope FSU wins. Whether you like it or not. Resume is everything in college football these days and beating an undefeated FSU means more than beating a 1 loss FSU. Put your feelings to the side and think about this logically.

Clemson lost to Pitt and made the playoffs.

Beat FSU and everyone else we're supposed to beat and win the Coastal, and we're in the mix for the playoffs regardless of what FSU does against Baga in week 1.

If Miami wins out it doesn't matter. But let me play devils advocate. Let's say Bama beats FSU and Miami wins the coastal but drops one game (let's say Pitt) along the way. Then they beat FSU again in the ACC title game. If there's any type of logjam in the playoff mix, it's going to be tough to argue getting in with the biggest victory of the season against a 3 loss (minimum) FSU team.

If Miami played a tougher schedule this year, I'd say who gives a **** if FSU loses to Bama. However, since FSU is the ONLY marquee opponent on the schedule this year, it's imperative that they stay as highly ranked as possible.

Now, none of it matters if Miami doesn't make a push for a playoff invitation.
One loss ACC champ is in. Period. The rest is mental *********ion.

Now it's a party

You FSU honks gotta root for FSU all year not just against Alabaga. A loss to Alabaga is far less damaging to your Noles' perceived strength than a loss to any other team on their schedule would be.

So enjoy rooting for FSU every week. Makes it super fun to be a UM fan rooting for FSU every week doesn't it?

So you have one-loss Alabama and Ohio State, undefeated USC and Oklahoma and 1-loss ACC Champion Miami. Who's out?

So you're free to tout the success of the ACC and then criticize people who want the ACC to have success. Another made up argument I guess.

"As long as they win out, there's no way they can miss the championship game"- Every Miami fan in 2000 after the Washington loss.

As much as I hate FSU as they are our rivals but I want them at the top when they get beat by us. Don't want anyone claiming it was a down year when we beat them. Plus helps with the narrative that the $ec is overrated
As for UiF lose big and I'm talking real big every week.

F them! I hope they lose every game!

Any respectable Cane should want FSU to lose

#1 never root for FSU
#2 the better they appear the more they can recruit SFlo
#3 **** FSU
#4 yes, we'd all like to beat a FSU team perceived as great, but be real, if FSU sucks nobody is going to poo poo beating the **** out of a bad FSU

Lol at the strength of schedule argument or the "I want them undefeated when we face them" argument. Two of the dumbest things consistently said on this site.

Who gives a **** about them or their record. Let's just handle our business week in/out and we will be fine.

Gotta admit I'm terrible at predicting polls. I thought this would be 2/3 rooting for an FSU loss.

we really want uf to win a certain amount of games to keep that corch around...keep that in mind.

I'll be rooting against Alabama. This era has been too dominant and needs a dent. Needs to return toward the pack, losing a critical few points in power rating year after year. They were two touchdowns up on a very talented Clemson team in the fourth quarter. Hold that lead and there's already talk of greatest modern stretch over 6-8 years, and it couldn't be seriously disputed. At this point Alabama's legacy against the Canes run is at stake, while Florida State figures to be only moderately strong and their 2017 season likely will drift into semi-irrelevancy.

I despise the Gators and root against them in everything. Right now I wouldn't mind Christian Taylor and Will Claye snapping an ankle on either the hop, skip or jump. With Florida State I root for them occasionally. I certainly preferred them over Auburn in the title game. The only period I've hated them nearby the Gators was late '80s through early '90s. They had the talent base to nab several titles and threaten where the Canes were.

I'll also root against Mike Leach but mostly I'll cherish that he'll provide several reasons to laugh at him throughout 2017.
