Where we go from here

Aren’t you the guy with “inside info from a guy at every practice” that Polendey was going to start over Jordan and Mallory?

He should've played more as Jordan was getting blown up in the line of scrimmage left and right when asked to block. Nevermind we can't hit the broadside of the barn or run routes over the middle. When he got free, Jordan looked good but was missed.

Nice attempt though at distracting from the fact that you once again have completely seen stuff that wasn't there. I tried giving you an out, you should've taken it. Your evals, man, they're out of whack so often it's almost comical. Nice site you've got here, but leave the evals to those with an eye for it. Ban away if you've got a problem with it.

You’re calling for more Polendey and then asking us to “leave the evals” to you.

I’ll go ahead and pass on that.

After what I’ve seen the past few years, I struggle to put too much stock into QB performance on Greentree.

With that said, Williams is the most gifted passer. He has the most accurate arm and plays with anticipation. His physical tools are top-shelf. Gun to my head, he’s a cut above the rest.

But we don’t know anything until they play real games.

At least you "sort of" came clean here. Then you attempted to blame what is seen at Greentree instead of what you should've seen there. The struggle is with how you see things or perceive them and then put those thoughts to pen. I was honestly wondering how much practice time you get as that could explain a lot as you're passionate as can be about this team and maybe that's where the problem lies. You have to be able to seperate and there's no fault if you can't, most cannot. Hope that makes sense.

For what we needed, better play on the OL. Polendy isn't great, but he's a better blocker than Jordan right now and Mallory isn't even in the discussion.

For the most part, the players played how they practiced.

The exception is Rosier’s improvement, which turned out to be a mirage. Greentree is most limited for QBs because you can’t hit them. But nobody has hyped Rosier. If anything, the “insiders” on this board underrated Rosier. I thought he would never play here.

Dean is the other guy who practiced better than he played. Other than that, guys look the same way they looked on Greentree. The surprise wasn’t the talent, but that Orgeron’s team seemed more prepared in all three phases.

Rousseau’s talent will become obvious in the coming weeks. Richt went with the stronger DEs to counter LSU’s style, which was a scared approach. It reminded me of how he kept Deejay Dallas under wraps until we played North Carolina. Like Dallas, Rousseau will be a difference maker in big games.

First off, I apologize for hyping this product. It’s embarrassing. Instead of erasing the Peach Bowl memory, we told the world nothing has changed. We won’t be respected for a long time after this. And we shouldn’t be.

As hopeless as we all feel, there is an entire season to play. Many seasons that looked doomed after the first game turned out very well. What are the best (realistic) steps to get things moving in the right direction? No coach is getting fired mid-season, so I’ll leave that to the other threads.

My overarching thought is this: we let experience play over talent because we started with LSU. That didn’t work, and every inferior talent got exposed. Now is the time to trust and fast track the talent.

QB- This is an obvious one. Rosier is 47% over his last eight games. That is a sample size of more than half his starting career. You can’t win like that. He’s not even the most athletic QB on the team. If anything, he’s the least dynamic.

We will be the underdog against every good team we play as long as Malik is the starter. What kills me the most is the lack of urgency he plays with. He was lifeless.

Greentree is not effective for evaluating QBs. Rosier looked improved until the real games started. We have four light games coming up. Put all three young guys under the fire (with live tackling) and see who emerges. Mix in reps with the first team. Use this schedule and the new redshirt rule to find out who belongs under center.

OL- Richt has been privately telling people that this team will take the next step when Delone Scaife, Cleveland Reed and John Campbell are ready to play. Time to expedite that process. Our guards looked out of place last night. A team like Clemson will make them look worse.

We need to get our guys through growing pains early. I’m not saying to start all three, but give them meaningful reps starting immediately. Scaife at RT and Donaldson at G may ultimately be the move.

P/K- Same story as above. Open it up over the next four games. We need to find out who is ready to play in a live environment against FSU. We were playing with a handicap all night.

DB- Dean and Knowles looked like the same guys. They are older than the others but not any better mentally. Time to let the young bloods learn on the job.

LSU was the perfect first test for us because they are strong where we are weak. Physical, strong and able to neutralize our athletic advantages. We failed the test miserably. Now is the time to radically rethink our approach as we look towards FSU.

I only wish Richt could read this and make the right adjustments

I saw too many good teams not afraid to play youth over experience

Even Nick Saban went to a variation of a spread offense, and smaller, faster LBs who could run and cover.
Yeah, because Saban, as much as I hate him, is a true CEO head coach and is constantly trying to improve his coaching staff and team, always.

Look at our entire defensive coaching staff:
Manny- marginal success
Everyone else - has never been a power 5 coach before or were a bartender at Applebees. I’m still ****ed about the Patke hire

I’m getting tired of watching Miami coaches underperform with the talent that their respective position group has, excluding Dugans and Brown. It chaps my @ss even worse when players say they weren’t prepared .

Will it be loaded?

I'm not going thru 19 pages of this thread to see if someone beat me to it...but here's what I think will probably happen:

1) Rosier will "get hot" against this run in our schedule where the throwing windows will be wider and open longer against the Savannah State/Toledo/FIU/UNC/FSU/UVA's. We'll probably be sitting at 6-1, looking at BC.

2a) One of the other QB's will play really well in at least 1 of those games (probably more than 1), gaining momentum with the players/fans to overtake Rosier.

2b) Richt and Co. will probably play the Kevin Bacon off Animal House card, imploring us to remain calm, all is well...no change at QB but will praise whichever QB plays well from 2a with the caveat of "Rosier is playing really well right now" and "we're in the driver's seat for the Coastal".

3) Rosier will struggle against someone he shouldn't, like BC or Duke or GT...most likely BC because they have the best DL (and overall defense, really) out of that group of teams...and it's in Chestnut Hill. But, we'll win all 3.

4) Still no change by the staff because "well, Rosier has won us 9 straight games" and "we just have to take care of business and we're back in Charlotte".

5) The wheels fall off against VT or Pitt (or both), Rosier has another game (or 2) where is about 40% or lower completion percentage, and we lose despite a good defensive effort.

6) We miss the ACCCG as a result, Rosier plays the mediocre bowl game as our outgoing "senior leader".

7) We don't see a new starting QB other than Rosier until the Spring.

The worst part of the game Sunday was that every question mark from the end of the 2017 season still remains 9 months later.

1. Rosier can't hit open WRs
2. Punting/Special Teams is atrocious
3. CB's getting killed in the intermediate passing game
4. OL not playing good enough

I think we win 9-10 games this year because of the cupcake schedule, but it's time to be honest with ourselves. As long as guys like Knowles, Rosier, Mahoney, Jahair Jones, and Dean are starting at the U or on the 2 deep, we will not take the next step. We need to recruit better in the trenches, QB, and CB.

Yes they can. Will there be growing pains? YES THERE WILL BE. But tell me growing pains are a problem out of an inexperienced qb learning what's coming at him over versus a qb who sucks. Who knows what to expect yet cant do **** to exploit it & visibly shows he gives 3 ***** if we do or not. He knows hes gonna be a at & t service technician this time next year. How much does he really care...

Some people I know were sitting by his family at the game. Overheard his sister talking about him being in the NFL next year. Apparently the father was also trying to go at it with other fans/player families. At least they are self aware :rolleyes:
