Where is everyone located?

Raised in Fort Lauderdale, attended games since the 60's...distinctly remember the 0-0 Notre Dame game in 1965, the QB for ND was a kid I played little league football with, Bill Zloch...0-0 back then was like a victory for us. Attended games through the late 90's then moved to Orlando and my wife was disabled limiting my ability to travel She passed recently so I expect to be attending games again this year, seems every game I was able to attend since moving to Orlando we lost, made me feel like a jinx, they better win them all this year...I got spoiled when we won 58 straight home games.
Fraggle....Sorry for your Loss....I've known you since Grassy....

Sorry for your loss. What high school did you attend?

Thank You, my wife had MS and it got worse the last several years...she suffered terribly but is in Heaven now.
I went to Stranahan High, graduated 1960.

Fraggle....My Sister passed from MS in 82...
Unfortunately...This was during it's infancy, and not much could be done....Ended up in Geri Care in Sarasota until end...I KNOW what you went through.

She was diagnosed over 30 years ago and then became a nurse and worked until 2012 but when she had to leave work she got worse and the last year was bedridden. She was a real trooper throughout, I miss her but it was difficult seeing her suffer. She never really complained.

I'm all the way up in Maine. First college football game I ever watched was the 2001 national championship and I was hooked from there!

Wow...older than I am. Remember Stranahan more for giving us Russ Smith who would have entered UM about '62. His last year at Stranahan might have been '61. Probably an all-time great at Stranahan, maybe the best player in school history. Never really had the great career some thought he might at Miami. Fast shifty RB when we didn't get that kind of player very often.

Yes sir, I actually sent a message to you outside of this thread. I know alittle bit about the players from my area playing at Miami, I however don't know the names. I'll be sure to look into it more though. As for Cotton Geatz's restaurant I have eaten there numerous times. It closed down I think 2 years ago. It is roughly 7 minutes from my house now. Curious have you eaten there? If this doesn't post right I apologize, I don't post much but I do read the board whenever I can. You all provide alot of information for me. I appreciate it.
Three off the top of my head who went to UM:

Phil Geatz -- late 50's. End
Jack Bahen --early '60's WR/DB
Rich Robinson -- DB late '60's

Didn't eat at Cotton's. Knew about because I met Phil at pre-game brunch before WVA in '86. It was on his business card which I still have. I drove from No.VA. Always had to drive through Cumberland on I-70, I guess to get to Morgantown or Pitt. I think I went both places for games twice. Used to see a sign for Cotton's driving thru the town on the interstate. It was a long time business in Cumberland I think. In the 1950's, University of Maryland was a real national power. A lot of their players came from Cumberland. We used to go to Cumberland and adjacent areas, like Western Pennsylvania and West Virginia, to get our players. Mostly working class white kids, sometimes from miners' or steelworkers' families. Those industries were much bigger and the boys were tough and used to physical sports.

I guess the restaurant closed down after Phil died. We had some good teams in the mid-50's, the Don Bosseler era. Many of our recruits had probably never seen ocean before, I'm sure Miami was like a paradise when they came down from Cumberland, small towns in Western PA, etc.. We'd often have a many Pittsburgh area players as U-Pitt, which was quite a rivalry for us back then.
