Where do we stand?

Some would say an elite team is determined by its strength at 4 positions: QB, edge rushers, OT and WR (CB is obviously another).
Clearly Mario’s search for a QB is TBD. But where do we stand otherwise? And would Ward or Liberty QB put us in elite category?
Accounting for depth...
QB: C+
OT: C+
WR: B
DE: B-
CB: C

We stand, not with a 5th year QB, but hoping a bunch of guys, with no experience, will lead us to 7 or 8 wins. You don't groom a QB for four years and then discard him UNLESS you have the stud on the ROSTER. I like Mario, I really hope he succeeds but this was asinine.

The defensive front 6-7 (depending how we line up) should be good. The back 4-5 will be bad.

I'd like a WR from the portal, but there is some talent on offense, outside of QB.

Maybe we get lucky enough in toss up games to get to .500. That's the ceiling.

Get skinny Tua or someone at that level and we can get to 8 wins.

Ask yourself what our record would be if we didn't turn the ball over so much this season.

We were ranked 97th in turnover margin.
97th!

Keep stacking OL talent like we are...
And find ourselves a QB that isn't a turnover machine...
And we'll be good.

I'm a defensive guy, and even I'm not panicking about DB. ***** all that. Any good DC (which I think Guidry is) will give you a formidable defense every year... particularly if he's got some talent up front. I ain't worried about that.
Our defense was good enough to win 10 games this season.

It's nice to have a guy with arm talent, but IMO that's not what makes a winner at QB. Quite the opposite actually. Some of the most talented QB's were not winners. TVD has a ton of arm talent.
I want a guy who's gonna be a leader, make the correct reads/throws and not turn the ball over. If that kid comes from Liberty then so be it. Unless there's a ton of development in the QB room, I don't think THAT kid is on our roster right now. Brown doesn't process things fast enough and Emory's accuracy is 💩. (at least right now it is)

Open the whole field on offensive passing plays, use the **** tight ends we have instead of making them another tackle and just block, get the speed involved on offense (we know we have some there), become more disciplined and cut out the bone headed, stupid and idiotic penalties (tough reach there), better clock management (trying be positive here), use timeouts at the right time ( not sure why I put that in here), the list can go on and on, and stop playing down to competition (20years and counting), so for me it’s where Tweety Bird plucks Eddie Valiant’s fingers off the wire in Who Framed Roger Rabbit (wondering who would play Jessica Rabbit in a live action movie, this could open a honest debate), but that’s it for me.

As it stands, MC will field a 7-5/8-4 team. Starts and ends with the HC. It’s a poorly disciplined team evident by the turnovers and penalties they have. RZ execution is, well, horrendous..when all these improve, then perhaps we get to 10 wins…
