When you guys watched Mendoza, did you really think "Oh, yeah, this guy should be the #1 overall pick in the draft!!!!"

Yes. I did.

He made the clutch plays when it counted. He’s also tough as ****.

Im as Upset as everyone else, but don’t get twisted. Every QB has games he doesn’t light up the stats, but you can count on him to come thru when it matters. he made the 2-3 plays to win the game when he had to.

I can almost guarantee that if it was Mendoza and not Beck leading us that last drive, we score. That’s what will make him the number one pick. And it’s no slight on Beck. He got us here. But Mendoza is clutch.

I don’t see it as an NFL prospect.

NFL QBs have super skills. I don’t see anything he does at a high level. The NFL is so hard. Defenses are so good. Good enough to make great QBs oftentimes look mediocre. I think physically he’ll be overmatched.

Lets put it this way - would you want your team to use your #1 overall pick on him or would you trade it to some other sucker and pick up a vet QB and another position of need?

Mendoza was a baller as a CFB QB, but in a normal year, he doesn't win the Hypseman and he definitely doesn't go #1 overall. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if he slid down a bit. Wouldn't put money on it, but I got a hunch he won't be the #1 overall, but then agaon, the Jets and Raiders aren't known for making great draft decisions.
 
Mendoza is not worthy of a number 1 pick. Good college player, but not elite and not a game changer. I stand by my statement weeks ago that, if he was here he would not have taken this team any further than Beck. We would not be national champs with Mendoza under center.

Beck isn't an NFL prospect.
 
Tough kid, bright, model citizen & excellent college player, but not sure he’s face of a franchise. Didn’t see it last night other than TD run. Problem is Vegas needs a QB & he’s the only option in draft. Might be smart to check on Burrow’s availability.

He just doesn't have an NFL arm.

Granted that didn't stop the Panthers drafting Young, but they've paid for it for 3 straight seasons. A wise GM steers clear of Beck.

ravens and eagles are definitely standard bearers for scouting and roster development. but mendoza is going to be ROY for the raiders next year.

It will be interesting to see how NFL players respond to him. Seems harmless but something about him is just off listening to his interviews. He also might just be a system guy. He is absolutely a hard worker ao maybe he adapts to the NFL but I don't see #1 overall pick. Plus he will be going to that dumpster fire that is the Raiders.

My projection for him is a Kirk Cousins type. Whether or not that is worthy of the top pick, not for me to decide but I think he will do very well in the NFL.

Kid takes shots and keeps getting up and up and up. Smart ball player.

I still can’t believe Heatherman didn’t account for a common play they run out of that set on 3rd and 4th down. Brutal!
