When Manny was fired from Texas

Mack Brown got fired that year too LMAO.

Fvck Mack Brown and fvck UNC

Thank you for bringing this up. Wanted to jump through the screen Saturday night and choke out Fowler and Herby for ignoring this.

Treated Manny's firing like it was 2005-era Mack laying the smack down on little Manolo.

My questions about Manny aside, Mack Brown and Texas were a dumpster fire in 2013 when Diaz's defense was wrecked. Program was a hot mess and Diaz was a lame duck hire who walked into a bad situation.

Brown scapegoated him like Coker did Kehoe, Werner, Soldinger and others after the Peace Bowl loss in 2005—before going 7-6 the next year and getting his own *** fired.

The Mack Brown love affair and revisionist history by these milquetoast, way-off-their-game, bland announcers—it was as painful to listen to as it was to watch the Heels' running backs run roughshod.

I watch our defense and I dont that our guys are soft mentally or physically. I think they make calculated decisions based on what they're being coached to do, and those decisions turn out to be very good or very poor.

They're soft in the sense the fold when punched in the mouth. Showed some life against Clemson, but as a whole, the Hurricanes have looked soft against physical teams for the better part of a decade now.

Even that run in 2017, out-toughed by a four-win Pitt team, a great Clemson team and a barely above average Wisconsin squad in a three-game losing streak to end the year.

****, FIU out-toughed them last fall—Butch's crew looking and fighting more like Miami than Miami did.

Fvck Mack Brown and fvck UNC
Thats why he probably HATES manny, Probably feels the reason he lost his job as a championship coach was because he hired a false hotshot with all that texas money..

Probably wants to spank Manny every single time and bury his whole family

These gimmicky fvcks are so **** bent on "cAuSiNg HaVoC" and tweeting their TFL numbers that we never employ any other fronts except an up-field 4-3.

How the **** is that the ONLY THING YOU DO at this level?!
We're a high school team and throughout the season we'll utilize 5 different fronts (odd, odd jet, odd tite, under, over)...
(not to mention 5 different personnel packages and 7 different coverages)
Sometimes we'll have to use all or most of our stuff in the course of ONE GAME.

YOU CAN'T USE THE SAME FRONTS, COVERAGES AND STRATEGIES VERSUS EVERY OPPONENT!!!
You can't just run up-field and "cAuSe HaVoC" versus teams that run power, counter and zone.

UNC ran the same **** formation and plays all game! They ran zone and counter over and over again! And our guys just continued to run up-field. Then our LB's...my god...they don't even look for the ball carrier, they just run to a landmark. I just watched the condensed version of the game. UNC had 34 points before I saw our DE's start to condense and spill. Only one problem...THEY WERE SPILLING/BOUNCING THE BALL TO NOBODY!!!! Like how can a P5 coaching staff be so unprepared for counter?!

And look at this ****.
Watch this...

Watch this jackamoe Nesta run straight up-field and actually end-up OUTSIDE of the OT, which is the C-gap. (he lined up in the B-gap)
smh3.webp

He even runs into Phillips! LOL
Look at the cutback lane we open by running up-field!
smh2.webp

This went for a big gain. A simple fvckin' zone running play! **** we see on the high school level every week!!

Now let's watch what UNC does against a heavy zone running offense.
Look at their front. That's basically a version of the Tite front. It forces everything to bounce.

Odd Tite.webp

Guess what happened on this play. TFL. It spilled to the apex defender inside of the slot WR that's assigned with tackling anything that bounces.

I bet UNC doesn't even employ this front versus every opponent, but they did it versus us. That's what good coaches do.
The fact that we ran our WEEKLY defense versus a team that runs counter and zone is embarrassing. Absolute amateur hour.

And some of you guys wanna blame the players.
MORE OFTEN THAN NOT, THE PLAYERS WEREN'T EVEN IN POSITION TO MAKE PLAYS!!!! They were doomed by alignment and assignment.

I'm more surprised at how many people are sho led that teams can run on us. Like dog he's been here what for 6 years? His DT recruiting had gotten worse and teams always ran through the middle of our team with ease when willis and RJ left. Those holes have been there for a good *** while there was just a team that was physical and with two good running backs. They never had to stop running.....if we play a team that can run in the bowl game we are going to see the same ****.

It’s truly amateur hour in Coral Gables. I’m no expert when it comes to X’s & O’s.. but **** it must be so easy to game plan against us.

It's crazy that you have been saying this forever and no one listened lol. U brought proof spoke logical **** and everyone hated u for it. **** if it makes sense to me and it's logical I'm on board. Hard to convince these flat earther types. Be careful now they will scream and cry and bring up stats of improvement to keep the simps here hoping for a turn around. We all know how this ends....when bama destroys us the seat will be hot all year. They will fire him the following year cause we cheap az fuq and they will name someone from this forum the next head coach.

Definition of insanity is repeatedly doing the same thing and expecting different results.
Someone needs to sit down and have a 1 on 1 with Diaz and explain to him that his defensive scheme works, and it CAN shut down an offense. But it also has tons of holes, that are consistently exploited by a disciplined offense/scheme. His scheme is based off success through havoc and penetration. Someone said it before, and from the outside looking in, appears correct. He's playing his defense and expects it to work, then makes adjustments and try to take advantage of what the opponent's offense gets comfortable with....instead of scheming to counter heavy tendencies and force the offense into its weakness.
Please show when his scheme worked against a good offense......he pads his stats against inferior talent. play against above average talent and good coaching and

I don’t see him walking away from his scheme and bringing in an independent guy to run his own system at this point. That’s gonna do him in.
It’s a very real possibility. Literally the million dollar question. Is he a CEO capable of changing with the times to lead his business forward, or is he the coach that’s ego won’t allow him to be better than he currently is. We shall all see together.

Anyone that thinks Manny is a winner or good H coach or even decent HC, needs to be committed to the insane asylum.
This guys whole career has been smoke and mirrors, advanced by lots of smooth talking.

He’s a lot like Al Golden but more savvy.

Where as Al ( I sell used cars) Golden would steal your wallet,
Manny will steal your wallet but then help you look for it.
Bottom line.. he’s a fraud, a shister, a con man. The sooner he’s gone the better this program will be. Only one fooled by Manny at this point are Flake James, this awful administration and a few brain dead turn over chain fanatics. Every one else sees the emperor has no clothes.
So you're saying Manny is a politician.

The safety is no where to be seen and all 3 LBs are on the same side of the formation... that's how you give up 500+

The rush defense improved in 2018 after Norton and McIntosh left. It got even better in 2019 after Willis left.

Sounds about right, but funny thing.... Texas still hasnt found anybody that can coach defense.... neither has anyone in the Big 12

Mack Brown definitely scapegoated him, but that doesn't mean his system isn't garbage. It caught ND by surprise in 2017 in a big way and it's worked plenty of other times. But as others have said, you can't keep playing that same note over and over. If we're going to get anywhere next year at all, Manny neeeds to put his ego to the side and get a strong DC. I'm hoping that the humiliation of this game and the concern about face Bama to start next season will force him to do that.

Golden was the trashy used car sales man.

Manny is your typical South Florida real estate hustler.

Even Macho scoring through that hole. Although Macho is knowledgeable even common fans know this defense is straight trash and predictable.

He's stopped some good offenses as well....But the system just has so many holes that it will never consistently work....and absolutely does not hold up against teams that specifically scheme against it.

What elite offenses has he ever stopped?
