What's your take on us giving FSU fits these last two years?

Given who was "coaching" us.. given who the "coaches" underneath him were..

I mean common sense would tell you that FSU with all their top tier talent should have been running us over both seasons.
That didn't happen and me personally, it makes me question the abilities of jimbo fisher

It may be an unpopular opinion but the man strikes me as someone as an elite recruiter.. but questionable on the coaching side of things.

This didn't start with our games vs them I might add. It started with the game vs oregon, in which a more talented FSU team got eradicated in spectacular fashion to my and many others delight.

We lost by 5 points to FSU with these clowns as our coaches.. @ FSU

I think those two games proved what we already knew... 1) Our talent level wasn't as bad as the record indicated. 2) Scheme was holding us back. We were able to stay with FSU until Al got spooked and went back to his conservative play calling, especially defensively.

moral victories still count as losses. Time to beat these b!tches and set them in their proper place on the totem pole

I hope he is enjoying the lovely spring weather in Detroit this time of year...fuggin POS con artist

I think Ole Miss will smoke them week 1

They will. Miami, UF, Louisville, & Clemson are all possible losses.

Miami/FSU is a rivalry game so, it's going to be more competitive than a normal game.

We play better against pro style teams than spread teams, especially ones with a mobile QB.

Our talent was held back by a charlatan. When I think about it makes me sick. Sick for the kids that came to be Canes, but weren't allowed to because of a fake coach. That fat little troll owns the underachievement also.

As far as Jimbo's goes, a couple of buddies of mine are LSU nuts and then didn't give a rats *** when he left town. According to them Jimbo's was incapable of out coaching anyone or coaching up players. Not a real good X's and O's guy. The amount of talent on the FSU roster is second to none and Jimbo is responsible for that. Great recruiter, but even Jameis regressed from his first year as a starter to the next.

We're gonna find out first hand this fall.

Go Canes!

If we had a quality coach, such as Richt, we win the games....

Expect that to happen most of the time with Richt - we'll also be attacking on offense and defense - hopefully special teams, too but I don't know what their philsophy will be....

We'll also have more depth across the board with players who can play....

Coaching was the difference in both of the last 2 games. They have more talent than Miami but not by much. A lot of their higher ranked guys are bust. Miami would have at least 9 or 10 starters on their team when you figure in offense and defense. If golden had kept his foot on their throat we would have won easily. Fully confident in this game next year all that held us back was coaching

I don't see the 9 or 10 starters. Its a rivalry game. They are usually tough. That being said, Jimbo is an average coach that is extremely conservative. FSU fans make a big deal about how complicated his offense is but its really not. If anything they are short passes that causes his wideouts to take a while to get open. Winston really saved his job. In my opinion he's extremely average and too conservative. He's a scary coach. In Al's case he was a bad coach. Since he was here our players came out ready to play. However, in each of those games we never adjust. Meanwhile, FSU did.

Rivalry games are usually competitive with the exception of a few.

This, our players showed up to play them. Plus we had stellar QB play. Remember in 2014 we surprised them and then they took over in the second half. Their talent always took over when it mattered most. In the end though, it's a rivalry game. They were probably telling themselves the same thing when they lost on a missed FG in the ON back in 2002, when our team was literally littered with 1st round picks all over the field.

We've had equal or better talent at the skill positions and on the O-line. They've trounced us on the D-line.

Ultimately, I think it's about gameday coaching (adjustments, etc.) and overall mentality. I'm excited to see how Richt's offense and the new-look, Diaz/Kuligowski defense perform.

I disagree . We self imploded in 14, fumbles , int's that bounced off our lb's heads and going conservative on d when things got close . Last year was a back and fourth game all the way through , both years we had the lead in the fourth quarter . Also had the ball last with a chance to win those games .

Every Saturday Jimbo coaches he has far more talent than the opponent , but he still finds a way to choke 2-3 games away every season . His only year he couldn't F things up was he had his once a lifetime qb . Now that he's gone we'll see the same ole jumbo .

At no point did it feel like " talent had taken over".

Fact of the matter is a straight up corching staff of epic proportions gave Jimbo fits with less talent / depth.

Man smdh not enough of you MFers on here watch enough TAPE. Gentleman, film doesn't lie. Need more tape junkies on here.

Heavy underdogs in rivalry games use that emotional advantage to often keep those games close or pull the upset. When you have a good QB you can exploit that emotional edge even more.
