What's Your Most Enjoyable Game Built Up As A Nail Biter But Ended As Total Dominance By Miami?

Cool thread idea. Loved reading some of the posts.

Some of the games built up as nail biters I didn't think would be. But, these games I remember being sincerely concerned and then ended up enjoying dominance:

vs ND in 1989
vs Houston in 1991 (Klingler game)
vs FSU in 1994 (borderline "dominance", but I think their QB was miserable)
vs UF in 2001 Jan bowl
vs FSU in 2003 (Sean Taylor game in the rain)
vs Washington in 2001 (OB was a haunted house that night)
vs ND 2017 (felt like old times)

Kinda get the idea, huh? Outside of the shooting star ND moment, it's been a long time since we've felt like the Miami I remember.

I would tell you to Suck a Johnson....but why, when thats an everyday occurrence...

Ahhh the tried and true homophobic insult. So unsurprising from a doofus of your limited intellect.

Took me a while then remembered you’re the cult of Butch wannabe who he let drive him around in a golf cart one day.

It’s ok, Butch will return your calls even though you forgot Sammy Smith had a bad game 20 years ago.

You may be thinking of 1985, when the Canes best ND 58-7. The Irish weren’t very good, and Gerry Faust had already resigned or been fired, effective end of the season. This was one of the games that started a reputation for running up the score, and Thug U.
Unfortunately Ara Parsegian (sp?) was one of the sportscasters and whined and whined and whined!

My love of Canes nostalgia wants me to vote for the Thursday night Houston game in 1991. My favorite moment was the final minute when all of the freshmen were playing defense. The starting D all came over to cheer for the 3rd team D to keep the Houston starting offense out of the end zone on their final drive.

But the reality is that Notre Dame 2017 has to be the best anticipated nail-biter that turned into a blow out. That 91 Houston team finished like 5-7, so it was not really a great win aside from the hype. 2017 Notre Dame was a legit squad that finished with 10 wins and made the playoff the next season.

Penn State '01
ND '17
'88 Seminole Rap game

Couple more I can't remember.

Probably the most enjoyable game to watch for me overall was the '91 Cotton Bowl. It was patently obvious Texas had no business playing against us; was like waving a steak in front of a Pitbull.

Read my post from the first page the beat down that we put on Houston set that program back about 15 to 20 years and that is not even a lie. That epic beat down in front of everyone Crush their soul for such a long time it took them so long to recover

Great list.
May I add the '90 Cotton Bowl vs. Texas?

Bit on the younger side, so Miami ND 2017, and then even though it ended up 21-20, we had that game in the bag the final 3 quarters the 2009 Oklahoma game. I can still see Brandon Harris coming off the edge and strip sacking Landry Jones

And the announcers were building up that RB called Hadnot that our Df almost broke in half! Yeah that was a total beat down!!

I was at the Cotton Bowl game. Total beat down. UM had 201 yards in penalties. Dallas sportswriter Blackie Sherod said the field looked like it was littered with yellow daffodils! Texas had around 216 yards in total offense.
