What's Your Most Enjoyable Game Built Up As A Nail Biter But Ended As Total Dominance By Miami?

On the list for sure is FSU 2003(?)

The game where WVU took us to the wire the week before, but then we played FSU in the rain and Chris Rix had Kirby Freeman performance.

Canes vs Houston 1991....epic

Houston was a top 10 team for a few years and running up the score on teams....on top of that had some big mouths about how they would put up 50 or more ans not care....

We beat them so bad....the Houston program didn't recover until about 15 years later....seriously

Also 2001 game vs Washington....but I knew we would destroy them....most amazing part is when my late cousin went on a lunatic fringe after the Jerome McDougal TD and we were in West End Zone....**** near got commited lol
The Houston game started very early and Miami didnt let up until the final whistle.

Don’t remember the year but we thumped ND so bad that they fired their coach, refused to play us thereafter and only recently are back.

We did that to everyone in the 80’s, 90’s and early 00’s.

Only team that played us tough was FSU and they suffered greatly bc of us

You may be thinking of 1985, when the Canes best ND 58-7. The Irish weren’t very good, and Gerry Faust had already resigned or been fired, effective end of the season. This was one of the games that started a reputation for running up the score, and Thug U.

That’s a terrible thing to say about Kirby Freeman.

Underrated game, #5 Miami @ #3 VT 2005. Marcus Vick had the Hokies undefeated and thinking championship. Canes defense put together a classic performance, on the road nonetheless.

1988 Primetime Game against #11 LSU in Death Valley! We beat dat ***, 44-3.

The ESPN announcers were almost in tears. Utter shock that we went into Death Valley (supposedly the toughest place to win), at night, and whooped that Tiger ***.

We had some nasty @$&, grown men on our teams back then. J.J. gave 0 ***ks about running up the score. Man, how I miss those days.

I was at my friend’s house in Miami Springs and watched the epic beat down. It was a thing of beauty.

I was at that Beatdown...Lol...Although I can say without a doubt, that LSU had some Outstanding Fine Women at the game...

Still can see the image clear as day of our boys doing the hokie pokie on the sideline at Lane as it went to the 4th quarter with the game well in hand. Great night!!

2001 Miami vs. Washington.
One of my all time favorite home games. I wouldnt nominate it for this category though simply because the feeling in the air that night going into the game was that we were going to massacre those as-holes! The tension had been building up ever since we lost at their place the year before, then got left out of the natty in our own back yard in the ultimate hose job, watched both ou and fsu look like dogs-it in the title game knowing we would have blown out either, and a year's worth of built up tension and anger over that loss in Washington and the way the BCS screwed us just absolutely erupted that night! One of the most complete dominations I've ever witnessed. It was like being at the ancient colleseum and thumbs were down everywhere. Absolute blood bath!

But even tho U Dub was pretty good that year, I knew that one was going to be a bloodbath before it ever kicked off. Those Washington kids must have been a nervous wreck that night as the OB was absolutely electric and the overall aura in the air was just savage. We wanted blood, and we got a lot of it! We probably would have beat some lower level NFL teams that night.

For me, at least in recent times, its gotta be ND in 2017. I felt we had a chance, but thought it'd be a very tough win. And everyone and their brother wrote us off and predicted the irish would just roll over us with their run game. The way we just blitzkrieg'd them in the first half was the epitome of one that was supposed to be a nail biter, but ended up being total domination instead. "BREAK OUT THE CHAIN AGAIN!!!"

The 6yd game was 88...I was there for both...bottomline is...he had a Monster game against us in 87....

Not really sure what point you are trying to make. In that 31-0 game FSU came in ranked #1 one and it was supposed to be very tight or a loss for us. We dominated them completely and Smith did absolutely nothing.

Thats the game I was referencing. Pretty sure anyone who remembers the rivalry knew what game I meant.

I seem to remember Craig Heyward running for nearly 250 against Miami, in 1986. Canes won easily, though.
True...but the 87 game would've been an FSU Victory...but Bowden took Sammy out for a breather...and on the VERY next play, the RB (Name eludes me..) Fumbled the handoff,...Blades recovered...and then Walsh hits Irvin for the Long TD pass....

All evidence to the contrary of course. Otherwise you’d h e known which game I meant.

Good lord you’re so unbelievably full of yourself.
I was a season ticket holder then...with a family member on the 86 coaching staff as a GA...Run along....
