What's going on with the team? This media blackout is crazy

Heading into last year's season many had Miami with a top 25-30 SOS yet we ended up with a cupcake and still went 5-7

Lets see how this plays out.

FSU, ATM, Clemson, UNC, NCst could all be ranked teams at year's end.

That first sentence is a flat-out lie.

NOBODY had Miami with a Top 25 SOS. NOBODY. That's false, and you can provide ZERO EVIDENCE that anyone rated Miami's SOS as "Top 25" last year.

NOBODY.

Have there been any practices the past few days? Or did they take a mini-pause prior to preparing for Game 1?

Mario's stealth camp is really getting annoying. It's one thing to not allow reporters to view everything at practice. But even the official YouTube site has only 1 video of interviews with JT and Francisco over the last three days.
Personally I love the tears and hate our media.

It's great because guess what you get to do Friday? Watch the actual product without a filter.

Here is how we can expose a liar.

This is what you said:

"Heading into last year's season many had Miami with a top 25-30 SOS yet we ended up with a cupcake and still went 5-7"

You cited ONE example. One. One is not "many". I cited multiple accurate assessments of how bad Miami's SOS was for 2022.

You are wrong. You have posted false information. Until you have "many" such sources to supply, just stop.

And #30 is not something to brag about. It is MID-PAC for the Power Five teams, as there are NOT 130 P5 schools.

If you want to brag about Miami having a tougher schedule than anyone in the G5, then you can take it to the "Who Gives a ****" board.

Here's another two SOS rankings at the END of the season, which proves that Miami DEFINITELY HAD a weak schedule in 2022, an SOS ranking that is much closer to the ones I presented, and not this delusional "#30" nonsense.

You also cited ONE in Phil Steele preseason 2022. LIAR (as if we were in preschool) for claiming to have provided multiple.

Not sure why you want to have a ****ing match over the 2022 preseason SOS. FPI had it at 30. Phil had them in the 60s. I've provided two more that had us with a tougher schedule than Phil. I have 30 and 37. Dang, I should have cited all sources with 100% accuracy for the CPA in the room.

This is all to prove what exactly? I'm a liar because didn't follow your citing procedures. Can you help the board out and post a link to your rules and procedures?

What about the concern for injuries?
What about the new OC/DC and only having 18 players from 18 months ago?
Yet all you want to do is look at my comment about a tougher schedule. Tell me, does Miami have a weaker or tougher schedule than most ACC teams? How about most teams not in the BIG10/SEC?

Nope, you're still lying.

I also provided College Football HQ which had us at 108 for 2022 preseason SOS ranking.

Look, here's what you did.

First you said "Miami has a tougher schedule than most teams". Which isn't true, unless you are trying to claim that Miami has a tougher schedule than approximately 64 Group of Five schools. Even among the Power Five (65 schools if you include Notre Dame) you would have to be in the Top 32 to "have a tougher schedule than most teams".

Then you said that "many" outlets had Miami in the "Top 25-30", and that's a lie. Nobody had Miami in the Top 25 during the 2022 off-season. And only ONE site had Miami at EXACTLY #30, and that same outlet had Miami MUCH lower by the end of the season. Every single other 2022 preseason ranking had Miami lower than 35, which puts Miami in the lower half of SOS for P5 teams.

Third, you falsely claim you provided "two more" rankings at 30 and 37, when they were actually 37 and 51.

For the record, your FIRST link takes us to the prior year (2021), and when you adjust it to the correct year, you get 68, not 30 or 37:
1693334255809.png

And, as noted, your SECOND link, which actually IS the 2022 pre-season guesstimate, is for 51, not 30 or 37:
1693334345208.png

What is the worst from you is that you act like the preseason SOS should somehow control the discussion. But the reality is the preseason ranking is just a guess. I provided the ACTUAL strength of schedule for 2022 and it was in the 60s. Again, two different sources, but based on ACTUAL outcomes.

Ultimately, it has NO BEARING OR RELEVANCE to yap about "pre-season SOS". We have ACTUAL strength of schedule for 2022, and it was horrible. It was, quite literally, one of the WORST in the entire Power 5. So if you use verifiable ACTUAL facts, instead of wild-*** preseason guesses, it is easy to establish that Miami had one of the EASIEST schedules in all of P5 for 2022.

Someone asked you the basis for your pessimistic viewpoint, and you just invented a bunch of stuff that wasn't true, about how we played a tough schedule last year (2022), and an even tougher schedule this year (2023).

The reality is that we played one of the easiest schedules in all of P5 last year, and it is largely the same schedule this year. Admittedly, if aTm plays better than 5-7 and if F$U doesn't crap the bed, then we might just finish up with an SOS in the 40-55 range. But this is a horrendous 2023 schedule that might just end up being one of the weakest in P5 for the second year in a row.

Second, this College Football HQ was published in October of 2022.

Here is another source with Miami having the third toughest ACC schedule preseason 2022:

As for the bold part, I clearly have said last year's schedule was dog **** bad and the point of the preseason ranking was that ESPN and now two others grossly over ranked our schedule AND we still failed to win 6 games! I believe we have a tougher schedule this year and tougher than 50% of colleges and potentially 50% of P5 schools. Thus, I picked the under of 7-5 while most on here are picking 8-4 or 9-3. The injuries (not made up) happen. The OC/DC changes and complete roster overhaul (not made up).

If we are going by the great Phil Steele: Miami plays 3 teams he has in the top 11 along with UNC at 21 for 2023.

If you are going to hold me accountable for multiple sources, go ahead and get me that second source.

" I've provided two more that had us with a tougher schedule than Phil. " Never said I had three sources of 30,30,37. I've got 30,37,51 and CBS had us with the third toughest in the ACC.

I'm sorry everyone was mean to you on this thread, Grover.

We can make this simple, pre-season rankings of SOS don't mean ****.

The reality was that last year's schedule was crap.

Bethune Cookman (again in 2023)
Southern Miss
aTm (again in 2023)
Middle Tennessee State
North Carolina (again in 2023)
Virginia Tech (again in 2023)
Duke
Virginia (again in 2023)
F$U (again in 2023)
Georgia Tech (again in 2023)
Clemson (again in 2023)
Pitt

New for 2023 - Miami of Ohio, Temple, Louisville, Boston College

---So. Miss/MTSU last year (7-6 and 8-5 last year) compared to Miami of Ohio/Temple this year (6-7 and 3-9 last year) - last year's opponents were tougher
---Duke/Pitt last year (both went 9-4 last year) compared to Louisville/BC this year (8-5 and 3-9 last year) - last year's opponents were tougher

So, if anything, our 2023 schedule might be EASIER than last year. We play 8 of the same teams, and the 4 "new" teams taking the place of the 4 "old" teams were worse last year.

Wow. We might actually have a 2023 SOS that is in the 70s.

Pre-season SOS doesn't mean ****. But it's not looking like a tough 2023 schedule for Miami thus far.

Again, feel free to prove either of your big lies:

1. Miami has a tougher schedule than most teams. (false)
2. Heading into last year's season many had Miami with a top 25-30 SOS. (false)

1. Pretty sure you just asked me to prove this then state "pre-season rankings of SOS don't mean ****." So exactly how is this a lie? It is my opinion and I never used a third-party source to validate it. You just stated your opinion. Should I call you a liar for posting your opinion? I mean that is exactly what you did to me.

2. I've given you 3 sources that all said Miami had "tough" schedules (30,37, 3rd toughest in ACC) and we all know how that schedule ended. You've given me Phil. All of this was just to prove you are right and I'm wrong. I'm such a lying piece of **** for stating "many" without being able to find hundreds of sources. Thanks for protecting the board and upholding justice.
