What's going on with mike whyche?

No space eaters. Space eaters in our defense would be just a fat guy in the middle of the field. No Cody wasn't 400 pounds at Bama. In fact, he had to lose wait in order for Saban to take him out of high school in the first place.

I disagree on 360 being bad. We need some "space eaters"

Just curious -- how big was big Vince here? Terrence Cody had to be pushing close too 400lbs while at Bama.

Space Eater is just another way of saying he 2 gaps, which we need if were ever gunna run a successful 3-4

360 is bad. Needs to lose 30 pounds. Which will happen once he's here and working out.

I know what the poster intended. We'll see. And you don't have to 2 gap to run a successful 3-4 defense. It's just that our coaching staff is set on running a 2 gap system.

He can be 360 but as long as he can move with that weight and be able to control his body. if he can shed blocks and make tackles, disrupt the back field at that weight we good. i think he can maximize his potential at 330 though.

He doesn't just need to be able to move with it, control his body, shed blocks, and make tackles, he needs to be able to do it for more than 10 snaps a game. Not a lot of college kids go 360+ on the DL and play a lot of snaps. Maybe he's Wilfork, but that's unlikely.

I'll take anything a random player tells Porter with a grain of salt. Pretty sure the head coach himself is a pretty loose with the actual weights of his players. Normally about 10-15 lbs over what they actually are. His obsession with making Miami a giant defense is troubling. Whether its actual weight or weight he'd like them to reach.

Check his twitter.. Guy has pics of him with Colin Kaepernick and Clay Matthews saying he's running with them.. And it seems he's working out regularly.

360? I don't think so looks more like 340ish max 350. But this guy is a monster human being and he knows he's coming in to start day 1.

If you can point me in the direction of a 3-4 D where the line doesnt 2 gap more often then not then id love to read about it. as far as i know tho, you NEED your lineman to 2 gap
