What's Elite About Fsu Staff?

Funny here we are in 2015 where ppl place a huge imphasis on freaking assistant corches.. I bet half these ppl couldn't name 5 assistant corches on the 01 squad without go ogling it.

Coaching staffs matter, its one of the most important jobs that a HC has.

Take Urban for example, he has had these assistants Whittingham(Utah), Mullen (MSU), Anderson (OregonSt), Strong (Texas), Addazio (BC), Herman (Houston), Ash (Rutgers). That isn't even counting the guys who are now OCs/DCs and HCs at lower level schools. Not surprisingly he has been successful everywhere he went and has won 3 NCs in his 10 years at a P5 school.

I'm not scared of FSU I think they are so overrated and so is Jimbo. I'll give him credit where it's due he's won a lot but the majority of them have been close games and games they played like **** in. That just goes to show the talent they have which is about to be cut back with Richt keeping guys home now. Fisher will be exposed as s coach when he no longer has the most talented team by far every week.

I was afraid Jimbo was going to take the LSU job because I thought they could do so much better than they have now. If they had Herman or Chip Kelly or whoever we would be in trouble for a while. I think we are right around the corner from beating Jimbo

Jimbo is one of the best coaches in college football. I understand they're our rivals but give the man credit. If he would've left that would've been a good thing for us

Trickett and Hagins are elite. Brewster is an elite recruiter. And their S&C and nutrition program is elite. Despite his hayseed demeanor, Jizzbo is a very bright guy. He's made huge changes to the infrastructure at FSU.

More importantly they have a booster club and administration that cares about winning and doing it at all costs.

Elite coaches don't lose to a 3 win Georgia Tech team that's one dimensional on offense with all the "talent" FSU has. A lot of their wins the past few years has been on talent alone. Having the resources to do that has been a big factor in getting the talent.

What I've read is that the staff Jimbo put in place as soon as he got the job was more recruiting-strong then once he got the talent coming he transitioned to more of a coaching staff to develop his all star talent. He is a smart guy at building a program.

You don't need an all star staff to win. You need a properly run program that has solid coaches and that can recruit very well. I think so far we have those ingredients. Just need the S&C coach to seal the deal.

The staff as it stands now (aside from the S&C coach) is good enough to make the playoffs and win it all. They just have to recruit on par with FSU, Clemson, etc. If Richt and staff can do that then we will be in great shape

You think they can recruit very well, but so far our 2016 class is below average for Miami

If you think this is a playoff team you're in for a rude awakening when we win 7 games next year. You're riding the wave of the new coach but ignoring all the early warning signs
Lol at making the playoffs next year. No one said that. I said the staff is good enough to make the playoffs if they recruit as well as FSU, Clemson, etc. That wasn't meant for the 2016 season. I think we can win the coastal next year but that's as far as I'd go.

But in three to four years, if hypothetically this staff is exactly the same, then yes it's a playoff capable staff. But that all depends on how well they recruit

That's funny because a month ago, you didn't even want Richt. I was calling for Richt and you were calling for MAC coaches. Now the staff headed by my guy is good enough to make the playoffs? LOL come on dude
I would still take Herman over Richt. Wasn't a fan of Richt but solid arguments were made that he can do well here so I changed my position. As for the staff it's a solid staff, good enough to win big. Whether that happens will depend on recruiting.

You're already complaining about the recruits he's got and he had a little over a week to recruit. You suck

I'll give him a pass for recruiting so far. But having said that, our current class is not good enough to get us to playoff levels. We need more elite recruits choosing Miami. And I would have liked to have seen a few 4/5 stars follow their coach and flip from UGA to UM, but Richt has all of January to get it right

More than recruit, they cover up. I swear... I remember one mom saying she wanted her son to go to FSU because they'd cover for him if he got in trouble. They are the epitome of THUG U, but they call us that??? I've never seen a dirtier school. There was a time I respected FSU, but not anymore.

fsu has greybeards(haggins, Trickett, Miller), recruiters, (brewster, jimbo), and a nice s&c.

Specialty- Randy Sanders (QB coach)

When i look at what we had under Golden it was down right scary compared to teams like FSU.

Pretty much everyone on fsu message board agrees they are not elite after their bowl loss. Many are wondering if Winston made jumbo look better then he actually is

They're just now considering that possibility, eh? Noles fans have the intellectual capacity of a clubbed seal.

He was Dumbo around most parts until the Winston of it all. Time will tell.

Are they really elite recruiters or are they just winning the recruiting war by default? We've had ****** coarching at Miami for some time now.

They beat us so they must be cheating. Right....

Can't have anything to do with the fact that the hey have an admin that actually supports football

elite recruiters....

There only cherry picking south florida....their beating up guys on the trail in other areas consistently....how the **** u think they got jameis.

He most certainly did make Jumbo look better. **** we almost beat them with Jameis 2 years ago and should've beat them this year with an incompetent coaching staff.

It's funny, just about everyone on the outside feels Richt is assembling a monster staff. Our own fans, however, seem to perceive things differently. The grass is always greener on the other side, I guess.

miami has never paid what they are paying coaches now. they have never had such an experianced staff either. searles is seen as one of the best ol coaches in football by other coaches, kulgowski may be teh best dl coach in all college football. thomas brown in his short run as rb coach has coached 1000 yd rushers at every stop.

don't mistake youth for inexperiance or not elite at what they do. harltey had top ranked units on st at marshall. rumph may come from hs but look at some of the elite coaches in college football and they did that route also. bama has former hs coaches on there staff.

art briles may be the most innovative coach in football today was a hs head coach, auburns head coach was a hs head coach first. u can't dismiss guys cause they are hired from hs hc ranks.

As composed right now, I'd take the ***eye staff over Alabamy. It's moot though. You don't have to aim to replicate Bama or O$U to win at this level. Truth be told, if we had landed Aranda (which we *apparently were close to doing) or Don Brown there would actually be debates around here if our overall staff is in the top 5- the same way people are already asserting that our D-line will be among the best in the nation next year. Bottom line is we can compete with any of these "all-star" staffs if we simply get rolling and win enough to take advantage of our inherent recruiting advantage and continue to hit on at minimum above average QB's nationally. Even just a competent staff (and I think Richt's will prove to be more than that) should be able to achieve that. We just need legit positive momentum for the dominoes to start falling in our favor again.

I have seen that too. Quite a few people associated with CFB believe that richt is making good hires.
